As a Finnish girl living in Sthlm, I really regret watching this video. Obviously a huge generalisation what I'm going to say and also of stockholmare but I've experienced swedes completely and alarmingly unaware about their own history and its connection to Finland. I heard while living in England ppl making funny jokes about the Irish but these ppl in the video were typical "harmless swedes", making rude comments, too blunt, shallow, up in their own asses to even try to sound funny. Never experienced racism before I moved to Sweden, but I've had my part, ironically in a neighbour country, after +600 yrs part of Sweden, having learnt Swedish at school and all the rest. Thanks 👌
I was born in Sweden with Finnish parents, I have never once experienced any kind of "racism", apart from obvious banter with my friends, maybe I'm just lucky to have grown up in a good area with decent people around me. This was a really interesting video actually. Being from Finland, there's always been this juvenile cultural hatred towards Sweden and I always figured it was one-sided and Swedes couldn't give a shit. Guess that wasn't true lol. I always saw Sweden as a more sophisticated and tolerant country, all the Swedes I have talked to online or otherwise have been really cool in general, but it seems like they have some really weird assumptions about Finns, just like we have of them. Those people in the video were obviously joking. We Swedes have this sibling banter with fins, Danes and Norwegians. Remember that a lot of Finns live in Sweden and have merged together with the Swedes. The Finnish are usually proude and say they are better so its always fun to tease each other. And ye judging by our history and current culture I think we are quite tolerant in comparison to the rest of the world :p.

Finns are often described as some kind of weirdos who don’t talk and who drink a lot and stab people who disagree with them with knives everyone carries with them always. This does not tell about Finns, it tells about the fact that the other Swedish people, specifically from Stockholm are not interested in Finland and the Finns. These stereotypes are from 50-100 years ago when Finland was an agricultural country and were mostly false even then. Since then there has been urbanization, digitalisation, EU, and whatever not and Finland tops most of the meaningful categories of so called good life. I would like to see our Nordic friends to update their knowledge about Finland. They would be surprised that we are pretty much the same as the other Nordic countries by mentality. I personally love Sweden, and therefore I decided to move and study there. However, as I was quite aware Stockholm residents' arrogant attitude towards Finns. Therefore, I decided to live in other cities like Göteborg and Umeå, and totally loved those places and people whom I had an honor to get to know during my 3 years stay in Sweden. In addition, many of my foreign friends whom I met in Sweden claimed the same, that Stockholm was the only city in Sweden, where they have ever experienced racism.

just seeing this video makes me feel sorry for Finland. I have been there and learned a little but of the language. Actually the language is what separated Finland among its neighboring scandinavian countries. When I went to Oslo last month, all the Norwegians I met has all these things thay say about Finland like the typical drunk people, difficult and weird language, very distant people etc.

I have a half-brother half-Finn who married in to another Finnish family and some of my closest friends are Finns and always have been. So ye I know what Im talking about. Finns are very proud though and can be a bit sensitive. These teenage girls have proven to have no social skills at all or unable to tell a joke in a harmless way. The banter is usually more smooth.

Nice to see so many openly racist people. Racism against Finnish people began a long time ago in Sweden, and took root really with the poor Finnish workers moving to Sweden from 50s to 70s. They were poor and did sometimes drink, fight etc. But these people are still harboring those lovely stereotypes, and I mean it didn't even look like they were just joking. I believe these people are actual racists, well kudos to you. Although this really does not apply to everyone, some of my best friends are Swedish, I'm from Finland. There is also this counter smallish hatred towards Swedes in Finland. I think it is OK when you are competing in ice hockey, but some of these were way beyond that and are not acceptable.
Yeah, I mean, we were treated quite badly by the Swedes in Finland for centuries, we were thought to be a lower race and not as intelligent, we were used as free work force and cannon fodder and our country was used for free resources for centuries. Everything went Finland ---> Sweden for hundreds of years so of course Sweden is much fancier than Finland is. We weren't even allowed to get education in our own language for a looong time and Finnish-speaking schools were shut down and in many places kids were punished for speaking Finnish at school. Today Fenno-Swedes get into universities more easily than others because their culture apparently dies if they don't stay overrepresented in universities and good professions, like they always have. They say things like "all the important people in Finland have historically been Fenno-Swedes" or "respect us for building this country" even though they didn't even let us have education in our own language and give us a chance to build our own country. Like we didn't even try and they had to do it for us. Even today Fenno-Swedes (who nowadays mostly identify as Finns) call themselves the bättre folk and often look down on Finns, they call us "ugris" (we are Finno-Ugric genetically, not Indo-European) and tell us we are jealous of them. It is considered to be an upgrade to marry a Fenno-Swede because they are often rich and prosperous and influential. Their culture is emulated and seen as more refined and civil than the Finnish culture. They are a minority but they are the opposite of oppressed. Most of them speak Finnish at least decently and they seldom live outside of the coastal areas, but everyone everywhere has to learn their language and if you don't, that may hurt your chances to get a good job. Even my own grandfather once told me Swedes were naturally "more graceful" than Finns. Seriously. While looking at videos about Sweden I took some notice on many trolls or clueless people like you that called Sweden the "Rape Capital of Europe" and it took me a few seconds to find out why Sweden is so high on the list is to primarily Sweden protects women against rape and violence in general which you can not say about other countries read below: In 2013, there were 5,887 rapes reported to the Swedish police - or 63 cases per 100,000 population - according to the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention (Bra), which is a 5 percent decrease from the previous year. Raised awareness and a shifting attitude of crimes against women in Sweden, which has been ranked as the number one country in gender equality, may also explain the relatively high rates of reported rape. The Reason the rape statistics in Sweden is high, is because Sweden doesn't shame the rape victims, so people ACTUALLY report when they get raped to the police, rather than hide it compared to most other countries, it's something to be proud of. 1. Open the can under water to avoid the putrid odor.
2. flush it under the water tap to get rid of the broth
3. Cut the filet into smaller pieces instead of putting the 2ntire filet in your mouth (this makes it easier to keep it in, rather than spitting it out/vomit straight away)
4. Serv it on a piece of toast/flatbread (or any kind of bread) along with sour cream and chives (and a cold beer to flush it down with).

As a Finnish girl living in Sthlm, I really regret watching this video. Obviously a huge generalisation what I'm going to say and also of stockholmare but I've experienced swedes completely and alarmingly unaware about their own history and its connection to Finland. I heard while living in England ppl making funny jokes about the Irish but these ppl in the video were typical "harmless swedes", making rude comments, too blunt, shallow, up in their own asses to even try to sound funny.

This was a really interesting video actually. Being from Finland, there's always been this juvenile cultural hatred towards Sweden and I always figured it was one-sided and Swedes couldn't give a shit. Guess that wasn't true lol.

Finns are often described as some kind of weirdos who don’t talk and who drink a lot and stab people who disagree with them with knives everyone carries with them always. This does not tell about Finns, it tells about the fact that the other Swedish people, specifically from Stockholm are not interested in Finland and the Finns. These stereotypes are from 50-100 years ago when Finland was an agricultural country and were mostly false even then. Since then there has been urbanization, digitalisation, EU, and whatever not and Finland tops most of the meaningful categories of so called good life. I would like to see our Nordic friends to update their knowledge about Finland. They would be surprised that we are pretty much the same as the other Nordic countries by mentality.
I personally love Sweden, and therefore I decided to move and study there. However, as I was quite aware Stockholm residents' arrogant attitude towards Finns. Therefore, I decided to live in other cities like Göteborg and Umeå, and totally loved those places and people whom I had an honor to get to know during my 3 years stay in Sweden. In addition, many of my foreign friends whom I met in Sweden claimed the same, that Stockholm was the only city in Sweden, where they have ever experienced racism.

Actually the language is what separated Finland among its neighboring scandinavian countries. When I went to Oslo last month, all the Norwegians I met has all these things thay say about Finland like the typical drunk people, difficult and weird language, very distant people etc.

Nice to see so many openly racist people. Racism against Finnish people began a long time ago in Sweden, and took root really with the poor Finnish workers moving to Sweden from 50s to 70s. They were poor and did sometimes drink, fight etc. But these people are still harboring those lovely stereotypes, and I mean it didn't even look like they were just joking. I believe these people are actual racists, well kudos to you. Although this really does not apply to everyone, some of my best friends are Swedish, I'm from Finland. There is also this counter smallish hatred towards Swedes in Finland. I think it is OK when you are competing in ice hockey, but some of these were way beyond that and are not acceptable.
Yeah, I mean, we were treated quite badly by the Swedes in Finland for centuries, we were thought to be a lower race and not as intelligent, we were used as free work force and cannon fodder and our country was used for free resources for centuries. Everything went Finland ---> Sweden for hundreds of years so of course Sweden is much fancier than Finland is.
We weren't even allowed to get education in our own language for a looong time and Finnish-speaking schools were shut down and in many places kids were punished for speaking Finnish at school. Today Fenno-Swedes get into universities more easily than others because their culture apparently dies if they don't stay overrepresented in universities and good professions, like they always have. They say things like "all the important people in Finland have historically been Fenno-Swedes" or "respect us for building this country" even though they didn't even let us have education in our own language and give us a chance to build our own country. Like we didn't even try and they had to do it for us.
Even today Fenno-Swedes (who nowadays mostly identify as Finns) call themselves the bättre folk and often look down on Finns, they call us "ugris" (we are Finno-Ugric genetically, not Indo-European) and tell us we are jealous of them. It is considered to be an upgrade to marry a Fenno-Swede because they are often rich and prosperous and influential. Their culture is emulated and seen as more refined and civil than the Finnish culture.
They are a minority but they are the opposite of oppressed. Most of them speak Finnish at least decently and they seldom live outside of the coastal areas, but everyone everywhere has to learn their language and if you don't, that may hurt your chances to get a good job.
Even my own grandfather once told me Swedes were naturally "more graceful" than Finns. Seriously. That was nice to hear from your own gramps 🙄 I took a genetic test and found out I'm 20% Swedish and the amount of people who tell me they are jealous and want to be Swedish, too, is remarkable.

I have been so proud of our old oral song culture and mythology and recently I read about the time Kalevala was put together. Apparently our national poet, a Fenno-Swede called Runeberg, admired the man who put it together, but he couldn't for the life of him understand, how a Finn could do such an achievement. I have been to Scandinavia ie Sweden and Norway and it is amongst the safest places in the world if you compare to my homeland Australia, US and the UK, did you know that a woman is raped every ten minutes in the UK and yet thousands of rapes go unreported and conviction rates remain low. While looking at videos about Sweden I took some notice on many trolls or clueless people like you that called Sweden the "Rape Capital of Europe" and it took me a few seconds to find out why Sweden is so high on the list is to primarily Sweden protects women against rape and violence in general which you can not say about other countries read below:
In 2013, there were 5,887 rapes reported to the Swedish police - or 63 cases per 100,000 population - according to the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention (Bra), which is a 5 percent decrease from the previous year. The number of convictions have remained relatively unchanged since 2005, with approximately 190 convictions on average each year. There have been several international comparisons made, placing Sweden at the top end of the number of reported rapes. However, police procedures and legal definitions vary widely across countries, which makes it difficult to compare rape statistics. For example, Sweden reformed its sex crime legislation and made the legal definition of rape much wider in 2005, which largely explains a significant increase in the number of reported rapes in the ten-year period of 2004-2013. The Swedish police also record each instance of sexual violence in every case separately, leading to an inflated number of cases compared to other countries. Additionally, the Swedish police have improved the handling of rape cases, in an effort to increase the number of crimes reported. Raised awareness and a shifting attitude of crimes against women in Sweden, which has been ranked as the number one country in gender equality, may also explain the relatively high rates of reported rape.

George Williams ouh let me drop you some information buddy. If you open a map you will see that Sweden has boarder with Norway and Finland and Denmark. Who you think will attack them. Then there is Finland with over 1000 km boarder with Russia. During 2WW Finland protected its only few deceits old independence against Soviet in two wars. Mean while every so lovely Sweden (and whole western world) pretty much just sent us some thoughts and prays. If you watch that map real hard, you can see that Finland still exits and it never got invaded and we didn’t really get any help with that.
