  • Washington Bureau chief for American Urban Radio Networks, Ryan has been their White House correspondent since 1997. But she hasn’t just covered events-she’s worked to keep questions of race relations and urban issues on the public agenda. As spirited as her Fabric of America news blog, Ryan’s memoir offers her assessment of the last three presidents regarding race issues as well as interviews with policy makers, politicians, and a wide range of leading cultural figures.
