I hear this song and I weep every time. I was travelling for work / far away and couldn't get home to my son who was really ill. (He's 100% fine-He's 25 now). It was 2004 so he was 4. After I got off the phone I just broke down, raced home - a 5 hour drive - and had Reanimation on CD and this song came on along the drive and I must have listened to it 20 times in a row. We acknowledge the song when it comes up... without words. Linkin Park continues to be one of his favorite bands and was his first real concert and we got the most amazing seats out of the blue. When we went I was wondering if he was doing it for me and then he sang every lyric front to back on every song they played that night.
And these thousands are fucking idiots who have nothing else to do but hate. All because they can't cope with their own rotten lives and don't begrudge others who have managed to come back even stronger from such blows of fate.

Out of the four "real gigs" so far I think this is by far the best version. Emily is otherworldly in this, the harmonies with Mike, Colin and Dave are so good. And Colin is find of the year, a drummer that can play acoustic while sing backing vocals this well is an awesome thing to have on your resume.
Honestly of ALL the linkin park songs, this is the one I was looking forward to the most to have female vocals on. I loved Kelli Ali on My dcmbr on Radnimation. Really hope they do a version with Emily in studio
Her version of My December makes me love the song for the first time ever (I've always been "meh" about it, preferring the Reanimation remix over the original). And her version of Lost, even with only half the song, is equally haunting. Man, Emily's voice is so beautiful with these softer ballads... it makes me hope there's at least one ballad on every album for her from now on, starting with From Zero, the same way Joe always gets one instrumental to showcase his talents.

Felt great!! The venue for this show was a lot larger of course but still felt intimate. Everyone in the building had a pretty good view of the show. Not as intimate as the LA secret show on Sept 5th, but still felt very connected.
