This song gave me such an electrical experience when I was a kid. I’m 48 and I remember. My aunt told me I was an empath and not to allow ANYTHING to take my joy! I get it now. 1969, hippie teacher, box record player, 4th grade. If we all completed our lessons on Friday last 20 minutes we played that 45 record and danced our buts off. Great memories of a time long gone ago but it was very good .

I was born in 70 so missed the era, but ofc was there for the actual astrological age of aquarius. It is from the musical “Hair.” This song came out during a time when people were divided on many issues: the Vietnam War, racism and sexism to name a few. It was a time of huge disagreements (just like today). There was a movement calling for peace because people grew tired of all the infighting. It was not a prediction. . .it was a call for peace. I’m 59 nearly 60 and am a starseed. I only found that out in the last 3 years but I remember this song vividly when I was 5 and it was first released in the UK charts and was on the radio in my Dad’s car and in my Grandmother’s house. It’s one of the first songs I remember being very conscious of loving. How weird - it must have been hitting my DNA programme way back when I was just 5 in 1968. What a wonderful world and universe 💖

I first witnessed this song live at the Great Star Theatre in 2017 and was blown away. I still see all the actors singing "LET THE SUNSHINE IN". I feel very privileged that so many people were willing to put forth the enormous work involved in sharing this with a younger generation.

Very true. And like any age, it takes many decades for the changes to really and truly begin to be felt. Those changes don't happen instantly. An astrological age lasts approximately 2000 years. At the time of Christ, that was the ending of the Pisces age (the two fishes symbol). And the astrological ages run in reverse from our zodiacal astrological monthly calendar. Another problem that is ofen talked about is that no one is entirely sure just when an age begins and ends. But I have no doubt that we have begun that slow, change already. I only hope that all those that look forward to such shifts in time remember, that like anything else in the physical world, an age has both positive and negative aspects to it. And like a DNA spiral, we travel in cycles, but hopefully upward in evolution. And evolution comes about as a result of conflict, change, and the need for survival. The worse part about it, is so much of it depends upon random occurence too! :)
@@datatwo7405 Have you ever read a book called "The Indigo Kids" or it might be" Children"? Get it and see so much that makes sense- at least as far as I am concerned. Some is a bit to ethereal for some people however I don't think you are one. I tell people, to just read it and if there are some parts too "out there" for you-toss those and concentrate on the other info! But you will dig it all, I think. In 1969 I was 17, just graduated from high school. Looking forward to college and all that was possible for my life and future. Hanging out at the beach every night and listening to the music of this time. I dreamed of being able to drive cross country from the east to California. California being the considered the ultimate in freedom, music, hippie life, the beach and so much hope for the future. I never made it there and life has turned out so radically different than was thought possible in 1969. But this song will always bring back that hope and excitement and possibility of a better world.
I made it there, very beautiful state for the most part, nice place to visit, wouldn't live there!
As far as the major cities, San Francisco, LA, etc. Unless you're super rich living in a gated community you'd be living a unsustainable lifestyle and seeing it slowly turning into a third world shithole.
Utopia is always paved with good intentions but humans always ruin it and until the Lord's second coming it's never going to turn out right.
I also was 17 in 1969. Studying at University. I too had the hopes for a better world but I was able to achieve it for myself and my lovely wife. I did become a hippie and practised permaculture on my own farm in a rural area. I ride my tandem pushbike each day and keep fit while using no fossil fuels. It is a shame that the rest of the world didn't practice what they preached at the time.
Me too Marianne, same time, same age, same hopes and wonderful aspirations, my dream as well. Did make the east coast, cross country trip to Ca., but ran out of everything in Las Vegas. Still experienced, learned and marveled at, along the way, the total sense of unity, sincere goodwill and universal commonality of endeavor I felt from our peers. What a beautiful time to be alive. This song and others from the play / album (Hair) became my creed in 1969 and remains so today. I still believe it. Thanks for sharing.
