Feed them half rations for a couple of days you'll get them trapping in faster. Does your bob wire trap have a horizontal wire across the bottom joining them together rather than individual wires?
Thank you for the input, I will try that. And yes I bought it on Amazon. Each end wire connects to a bottom wire that I could lift all them up with. I’ve see Maney Pigeons do something similar for trap training.
@predatorsontherise I would have thought the wire going across the bottom of the wires would make it harder for your birds to trap in. I would get the birds hungrier until they are diving through the trap as you whistle or shake the feed. They will trap straight in from your 1.4km flight if they are hungry and the food is inside.
Feed them 2 ounces(about one big table spoon) of good feed per bird everyday for a week and they will trap a lot faster. Not only trap faster but they will fly faster too. Fat birds are lazy and like to hang around in trees or they just jog laps around the loft all day. Healthy conditioned birds will go straight home and straight in.
