2021 update: I now regard this as their best album. Period. No contest. They've come out with multiple records since this one, AND I've had plenty of time to compare this record with both previous ones and later ones and... Little Lucid Moments is the best one! It's their Close To The Edge!
Two years ago, I touted this album, with certain reservation, to be a tie-in as my fafourite MP- album. Just to let everyone who might care (or, indeed, not at all...), know: It still stands. The Unicorn album, allthough brilliantly ambitious (and I allways applaud such initiative), didn't quite pull any triggers with me ( I feel they bit over a little more than they could chew with that one...). Fruit rubbed me off in a slightly wrong way, but that's largely because of the way it was produced, and not nececerily because of the tracks themselves. Egg Plant and Behind The Sun, though, I feel are allmost right up there with the best of them. But, Little Lucid Moments is for me the very best of "recent" MP. In fact, I'll go one further: It's their best. Finally, they have a drummer who's able to follow all their various flights of fancy, and it's coaxed into four very immediate tracks that aren't overproduced ((Fruit) nor overcomposed (Unicorn). Now, if they could only do a third one with Reine, and hone that expression to "perfection"...
This is one of the best songs they've ever written, if not THE best. It's as close to perfection as you can possibly get. It's got everything you wanna hear in a rock song. Including the spaced-out improvisation and the heavy-metal aggression. Earthless1990 should definitely listen and learn; the collaboration with the Jaga Horns was good (could have been better, especially had Kapstad been there already), but nowhere near the sheer class and masterly craft of this album.
Innerspace100: Go for Angels and demons at play!! Fantastic :-) That one has got it all.. .Ithink. But hey taste is taste, and they are quite varied trough the course of their releases
Angels and Daemons certainly has its moments. Some of the bands most solid songs are on that album. Walking on The Water, Un Chien... But as a whole, it falls a bit short, I think. It's a rather long album too, and I feel they don't quite keep the focus right trhough with that one. But, it's still one of their better ones. Not quite up to Trust Us and Little Lucid Moments, but a slight tad abowe Timmy, which is my favourite of the "early period" albums. And, of course, very subjective, this... ;-)
Yea subjective, -that youre right about. Dont really think it falls short Heared Angels and daemons first of Motor -so thats maybe why (many good memories you know). . .Cheers
I haven't heard the new one with Storøkken yet, but this is my favourite Psycho album to date, even topping Trust Us! I realize that a lot of people gather the Demon Box and Timotys Monster albums to be superiour, but to me, they are both inferiour to both Trust Us and this one. Different strokes, surely.
best MP albums: no can do, they all are superior!! my faves though, on the long and winding road: Angels and daemons, Blissard Timothy's monster, Trust us.
elder touring with motorpsycho really makes sense! two awesome inovative bands!!!

this alb just revive me from despair. this album is a point of rock n roll music history...but there is lot of stuff by the way
such a perfect song
In the alternative rockworld, IMHO, we have the big nr. 3:
1. Motorpsycho
2. Swans
3. Mogwai
who agrees/disagrees? Let me know..

it's impossible ranking their best songs. They made so fucking many gems... from then to now. Unbelievable.

does anyone else hear some of the gates of delirium in this?
great tune... although imo the psycho second half is a bit too long..... cheers for the upload anyway!
@earthless1990 So you listen to Earthless and were born in 1990. Yeah, you surely have the skills to make suggestions.
Motorpsycho too
