I'm a SJSU alum, and have watched every game, it's been amazing to see. I knew they were good, but literally every week they would do things that made me think "wow, I didn't realize they were THIS good!". I'm so proud of this team! #SpartanUp
A current SJSU athlete, seeing the team from 2017 to now makes me so proud of these guys because they’ve really come a long way. To meet coach Brennan first hand, you can tell he’s a great coach just by the way he carries himself and talks to the team. He really cares deeply for the program and the future of SJSU football. I strongly believe SJSU Football will continue to make history to the top of the mountain.
So teams starting to claim imagination national championships? Nobody will respect them or give them credit for winning a national championship when they actually didn’t play in a national championship. That’s wack, I laugh at ucf fans who claim their national championship, they would’ve got smacked around by clemson or Alabama. Like I said it’s wack for teams to do that.
As a Hawaii fan, I’m glad for these guys. They’ve been down for a long time and it’s good to see them finally on top. Also for Bill Walsh’s wish come true.
This is the start of something great to be honest. With Harsin leaving, San Diego State on the decline, Utah State+Fresno State+Hawaii all floundering. This is the perfect time for them to rise to the occasion the Mountain West is truly wide open for them to take it.
I wouldn't call Hawaii floundering just yet. They did win their bowl, and Todd Graham is a talented coach. The Warriors might be competitive for a while yet. Utah State is totally falling apart though.

Sounds like San Jose is the real deal!! The coach has built something real.. sounds a little like Saban at Bama. It took him his first 3 years then folks saw the real results. Best of luck and I hope next year they are talking about them in playoffs.. on that note I wish they would have put Cincinnati or coastal Carolina in the playoffs instead of notre Dame! Even if they lost it been a great game!
We had our practice canceled and some of our players went to the scotts valley high school field where we practice to see a bunch of buses and players from sjsu working which was pretty wild
The pac don't even deserve to play any college football this year. They could have played 10 or 11 games also and they chose not to. What happened to the USC Colorado game. Oh well Colorado gets what they deserve should have never left the big 12.
Great video. Glad the athletic director had the patience to stick with coach and his staff and let him build and develop a good program. Too often you see guys get fired early and not get as long as they need to turn things around.
San Jose State Alum here, its good to see SJSU winning like this when I was a student 83-88 we had good teams but couldnt put it all together...one of the best games ever played at Spartan Stadium happened in 87 when a top 25 ranked Fresno St. visited and the Spartans won in classic fashion to take the Bulldogs undefeated season down in flames.....go Spartans..

My Family has 7 graduates from San Jose State and my youngest cousin is currently being recruited by them for Weak Side Defensive End or Tight End. Although im a life long Notre Dame "Golden Domer", but have love for 4 Cali schools just because my family is Alumni from these Schools: SJSU, Fresno State, Cal and UCLA. My Cousin says The Spartans look really good and has shown me several practices as well as workout sessions. I feel like San Jose State Can be a out of Nowhere Hugely Successful Football Team, one word can alter a kids decision in recruitment: Location, Location, Location, Not only is the weather Ideal in San Jose, but the campus is absolutely GORGEOUS !!! It only takes a few 4* players to commit in one of the Recruiting Classes and they become a perennial MWC Champion, Then they land a 5* another year and the school will gain momentum almost instantly. They are headed in the right direction now, that is a fact.
As a student of Humboldt State I can tell you it may have been a bonding experience for them but waking up with them blasting music from the Redwood Bowl and loud whistles was not fun.
Culture. Culture. Culture. They are building it the right way and San Jose State sits smack dab in the middle of of some of the richest (Silicon Valley) and best recruiting areas in the country. California sends more high school players to D1 schools than any state in the nation-and they can't all play at USC, UCLA or Cal. They will get the players and will also start getting commits from Texas and Oklahoma. The new facility in 2023 will be huge and so will the upcoming Arizona Bowl-more national exposure. Thanks for creating and uploading this video. It's a feel good story we could all use some more of these days.
I went to the SJSU game against Arkansas in Fayetteville. Rooted for my sisters Alma Mater sjsu. Plus I'm a Sharks fan so the Spartans are my NCAA team. It's cool to see Starkel go from hated in Arkansas to hero in San Jose. Happy for the dude.
