It's getting harder to find jobs for older people. As for me at 59 I'm doing voluntary work as a community transport driver picking up and dropping off clients to their medical appointments. I'm doing this because I'm sick of getting rejected from job applications. I'm happy doing what I'm doing and my clients are overwhelmed of the service I provide through a company. The company are so happy with me.
I went in an Uber during the week, and the gentleman driving said the exact same thing, he also enjoyed his work thankfully.
Hey guys, great channel! I've been curious - what do you both do for work?
Thank you so much ❤️ Ben works in manufacturing and I work in the retail sector xx
Thank you for this. I'm trying to find sponsorship from UK. I've had an interview a few days ago, so there's hope, but it's hard going. Will never give up!
Best of luck with your job application, we’ve got our fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼🤞🏼
here are the top tips . always network .keep network active thats how it works here. Also for jobs always front up. no email or phone calls .get into the door.
Loving the idea of a 🐆print Resume/CV, could you imagine that coming across a managers desk😂😂 in the UK 🇬🇧 they would most probably 🖼 it😂😂although a head shot maybe a good idea on a Resume, depending on the job, alternatively asking their job centre or recruitment agency for pointers. What kind of work do you both do? That’s if your allowed to say on here? How long after moving did you both get jobs?🦋🦋🦋
Haha it would be quite a sight! Ben works in manufacturing and I work in the retail sector. I managed to get a job lined up before we moved and Ben looked after the girls to begin with, so he started working a good few months down the line ❤️🇦🇺
Thank you for these videos... you're such a lovely family! I'm living in the UK now, and wanting to move to Australia. Is there any way to get in touch with you guys?
Absolutely! Head over to our insta @thebamfamalaminaustralia and send us a dm. If you don't have insta, we are also on facebook xx
I'm thinking of re skilling as an Occupational Health & Safety officer/advisor from my current job as a police officer in my country. Are H&S officers in good demand over there do you know?
Hey Ian, I think we answered your message over on fb - we look forward to your updates ❤️
@@TheBAMFamalam yeah, thanks a lot. You're very diligent at responding. Greatly appreciated. If I know of anyone wanting to or are interested in making the move I will certainly be pointing them in the direction of your channel.
Thanks again.
@@thepainter1956 you're very welcome, and thank you for spreading the word ❤️
There’s something wrong with your clock. It’s all over the place. 😀
Haha, I didn’t think the clock was even moving! It needs a new battery! We’ve totally been busted though - we often take 2 shoots, as there is always something we mess up in the first one, so our edits are usually 2 videos put together - that’s a good lesson for us not to shoot infront of a clock 🤣🤣
What online course did you?
Be aware, your CV will be immediately thrown in bin if it has your photo on it, for many companies anyway..... As HR does not want a risk of perceived descrimination/prejudice. Putting your photo in a CV is frowned upon (especially in corporate jobs for larger companies). People can look up your mug on LinkedIn anyway.
Great suggestions. Except, honestly not the photo!
I also recommend that you are prepared to take something that may not match your experience, it may be a lower grade of job than you have come from. When you first arrive you are a foreigner remember, so your experience is considered to be foreign.
seek.com.au is the broadest job site. For teachers look at the State Education websites ( each state has it's own Education system you will also need to be Registered here) and for Government jobs look at both the Federal and State Government websites.
Make sure you keep your LinkedIn up to date, it is an increasingly common way to be head-hunted, especially for the 20-30s.
Good luck and stay open minded about your options.
Yes, the photo is probably dependent on what sector you are in! Thanks for adding to this, that’s some great advice ❤️
Those job agents avoid them like the plague they are the worst thing ever.
I once worked in the employment and recruitment industry and you have offered some excellent advice.
Thank you so much ❤️
