महाकुंभ 2025 का आयोजन उत्तर प्रदेश के प्रयागराज में 13 जनवरी से 26 फरवरी 2025 तक किया जाएगा। इस दौरान गंगा, यमुना और अदृश्य सरस्वती नदियों के संगम तट पर श्रद्धालु स्नान करेंगे, जिसे मोक्ष प्राप्ति का मार्ग माना जाता है।
प्रमुख स्नान की तिथियां:
• 13 जनवरी 2025 (पौष पूर्णिमा): महाकुंभ की शुरुआत और पहला शाही स्नान।
• 14 जनवरी 2025 (मकर संक्रांति): दूसरा शाही स्नान।
• 29 जनवरी 2025 (मौनी अमावस्या): मुख्य स्नान दिवस।
• 3 फरवरी 2025 (वसंत पंचमी): शाही स्नान।
• 12 फरवरी 2025 (माघी पूर्णिमा): शाही स्नान।
• 26 फरवरी 2025 (महाशिवरात्रि): अंतिम शाही स्नान और महाकुंभ का समापन।

On January 29, 2025, a tragic stampede occurred during the Mauni Amavasya bathing ritual, resulting in at least 30 fatalities and around 60 injuries. The incident happened in the pre-dawn hours as a large number of devotees moved towards the river confluence. Despite the tragedy, the festival’s activities have continued.
In response to the incident and the anticipated large gatherings, authorities have intensified security and crowd management measures, especially for the upcoming Basant Panchami Snan on February 13, 2025. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to ensure “zero errors” in the arrangements for this significant bathing day.
The Maha Kumbh Mela is renowned for its massive scale, with the 2025 event expected to draw approximately 400 million participants. Preparations have been extensive, including the construction of temporary housing, roads, 11 hospitals, and 30 pontoon bridges to accommodate and manage the influx of pilgrims. A workforce of around 20,000 individuals and 50,000 security personnel, supported by over 2,500 surveillance cameras, are dedicated to maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the festival.
