Finally we clear the garden. Thankfully our son William was here to help as it was back breaking work. Thanks for watching and please subscribe! Rich, Gill and William
I think “clearing the land” is a better description for the incredible amount of work you guys did, rather than “garden cleanup” 😮💨 I’m exhausted just watching it 😮💨🥱😴 And I’m not surprised that your son is so cheerfully helpful either! He is a sweetheart! Thank you William! 🤗 😁🤗🥰😁
@murialpack5350 Hello Murial, us Brit's are known for understating things so perhaps you are right about the description...all I know is that my back wouldn't work the next day. William was (and is) an inspiration - thanks for your kind words. Rich
What a lovely young man! Well done to both of you. The garden is much bigger than I expected and is going to be magnificent. I expect too that your neighbours are happy.
@janeandclementine Hello Jane, thanks for your kind words - we are very proud of William and his siblings. The garden is definitely big by English standards...plenty of projects ahead of us. Best wishes and enjoy your weekend. Rich
Okay that back yard is huge! Way bigger than I thought! Can’t wait to see what you and Gill do wth it. Pleasure to meet your son, William! So much hard work for you. I am 63, and I get exhausted watching you! Everything looks fabulous! I wish you the best, as always. Sherry ❤❤🇨🇦
@sherrymccauley7311 Hello Sherry, I wouldn't say huge, but certainly much bigger than most UK yards. Definitely plenty of projects (and videos) ahead of us😂 William was a massive help - we miss him as he's just started a new job in the USA. Sherry...I get exhausted watching us😊 Thanks for your kind words. Best wishes, Rich
@mariankenny8467 Hello Marian, yes he is a lovely lady - we are very proud of him and his siblings. Thanks for your comments and have a great weekend. Rich
@user-ke8kp7cq7l Hello Angela, thanks for your comments. Yes the garden is huge for an English garden. We are very lucky to have it and excited about the possibilities it offers. Best wishes for the weekend! Rich
@senthilramanathan5459 Hello Senthil, Thanks for subscribing and thanks for your comment. I know what you mean about memories - they are what helped me through the hard times of chemotherapy. I know how much you enjoy gardening so Gill and I can offer you plenty of practice and new memories in the future. Best wishes for the weekend. Richard
@_Tiamat_. Hello Tia, Thanks for your kind words. I saw that you've been watching a few of our videos again...are you having problems sleeping ?😀 Best wishes and enjoy the rest of your weekend! Rich
@@Bramblecottageuk Having fun with UA-cam. It was showing that I was not subscribed and that I had not watch any of your videos. So I showed it and put them all on again. Added 💜💙💚's were they may have not sticked. Sending you all big hugs. Tia
WOW! Every time an area was cleared, yikes, there was yet another area to be cleared, haha, I thought it would never be over for you. You and your son did a sensational job. Gill, who is the little sweet dog that visited?
Rich and William worked so hard. It was a really long day and they were both aching and exhausted. The gorgeous little dog was Jam. She is our daughters 12 year old cocker spaniel. She has the sweetest nature and is a joy to look after.
Well done all of you! What a mammoth task you've accomplished! Lovely to meet William; great for you to have had his help. The garden has been transformed, ready for reimagining such wonderful space. ❤🎉🇨🇦
@sharonbarrettewing7472 Hello Sharon, thanks for your comments and I hope you are doing well. Without William I would not have managed to finish the job...and it wouldn't have been as much fun. You are so right about reimagination...so many ideas..so many video opportunities😋 Best wishes, Rich
My! that WAS a lot of graft but it IS a lovely plot you have there. The fireplace is coming into its own and looking lovely! Welcome William Bramble! ❤ XXX
@cajsheen2594 Hello Caj, you are right it is a lovely plot...now that we can see it. going into the living room at the end of the day and switching the artificial fire on and opening a beer together with William was a great end to the day. Enjoy your weekend! Rich
@cajsheen2594 Hello Caj, Gill and I are international...we understand...plot, lot, spread, yard, garden, grundstück...so many words but the all mean the same....a lot of hard work which brings a massive reward in terms of physical health, mental health and generally feeling satisfied. Best wishes, Rich
@lorigill-hj2ni Hello Lori, In many ways you are right - it's a real pleasure to work with him. I couldn't have achieved so much without him. We just need his brother Thomas over from Idaho and the 3 of us would have the cottage finished in no time😊 Have a great weekend, Rich
William looks exactly like Rich. And he’s a hard worker that gets the job done. I’m sure you’re both very proud of him. The back yard is pretty big. It’s amazing how much work you all accomplished. I’m sure all your neighbors appreciate all the hard work and progress you all have made since you bought the cottage. Go relax if you remember how to do that. 😆 Take care, see ya later.
@janinevalido Hello Janine, I wouldn't wish my looks on anyone😋 We are definitly proud of him and his siblings. The back yard is a really good size for an English garden...so many exciting projects ahead of us. Thanks for your comments and have a great weekend. Rich
@AlidaLloyd Hello Alida, the garden is definitely large (it's also made to look bigger by the camera)...I will measure it today just out of interest. The clear up was so worth getting done - I just need to keep on top of it now or else everything will grow back again😱 thanks for your comments and enjoy your weekend. Rich
@katbar6066 Hello Kat, the garden is definitely large (it's also made to look bigger by the camera). the big boy's toy was fun and it was also a game changer - if I had rented the smaller one as I originally intended I would never have finished the job...so it was money well spent. We now need to keep working on the garden or else the brambles will be back before we know it. Thanks for your comment. Rich
@janetrothwell4448 Hello Janet, we are so please with the outcome. There are so many ideas in our heads for the yard...plenty of videos for the future😋 Have a great weekend. Rich
@IdahoNative58 Hello Elaine, I hope you are doing well. The job was massive but it was made much easier with a big machine and young muscle (would have been great if William's brother could have come over from Nampa to help) I am so glad you enjoyed watching from your comfy chair. what you didn't see on the video was that after William turned the camera off I couldn't get up out of the comfy chair in the living room. Have a great weekend, Rich
@Joannafwatson Hello Joanna, you are so right about young uns and help. Our young uns are spread around the globe...so it's great when one is around to help out. The chipper was definitely a lot of fun - I can highly recommend it😀 Have a great weekend, Rich
Hi enjoy watching this. Myself and my partner live on the island of Guernsey. We are currently undergoing the exact same project. Its amazing the similarities. Thanks for the videos Aaron & Sarah

Goodness me Rich!!! This video of you and William made me tired just watching you both 😊 I chuckled to myself when you said you kept tripping over brambles. Come on, it's not called Bramble Cottage for nothing 😂😂😂 Well done, you've made such a difference in just one day. I look forward to seeing the garden being developed by you and Gill xx
@zoecooper6436 Hello Zoe, I'm glad I made you chuckle - I chuckled too at times ...maybe we should rename it to "Trip Cottage"..😊 The difference a day can make is incredible if you have the right tools and people to help. We have so many garden projects in our heads that there will be plenty of videos for years to come😄 Have a great weekend! Rich
Omg🥳🥳WOW....🥳🥳Brilliant job all, like night & day, can actually see that big beautiful yard at last!!!!! Well deserved bevvies & wee sit down Rich & Will, it's a lot! Doing much the same myself lately, & despite resulting achiness, such a blessed relief to see progress made, isn't it? Happy happy days😎🥳😎💪🎆🎉🏆🏅😍🥳
@catherineincanada1874 Hello Catherine, you are so right about the satisfaction of "seeing progress"...the day after the work I couldn't bend down (so much so that Gill had to dress me 😊) but a few Tylenol later I took a look at the back yard and had a beaming smile on my face. What projects are you currently working on? Best wishes for the weekend, Rich
@@Bramblecottageuk oh gosh Rich, much like you 2, take your pick - indoor ongoing reno's, indoor re-organization & room switching, exterior maintenance, exterior repairs, bsmt & foundation repair, cutting down trees & shrubs, making space to plant more fruit trees & berry bushes (pick axe needed to deal with plethora of rocks, some very large) herb gathering/drying, putting up garden bounty, hopefully some jams, chili sauce & preserves, replacing foyer roof & hopefully eavestroughs & at least 1 window asap b/c our great white north weather's suddenly turned.... early hard winter here I suspect (sigh) welcome to life in remote north🤗😁
