Had many a drunken escapade in London in the 90's, usually involved travelling on a train from kent heading into the west end , getting tanked up and having fun with a random female. Some very memorable nights and not so memorable mornings waking up in random houses. These videos bring back all the memories of that time.
1997 doesn't seem that long ago to me, yet the changes are obvious from this excellent video. No hideous make-up on the ladies, people seemed more natural and fashions weren't much different from those of the 80s or even the 70s. Fascinating video!
I just said the exact thing on another video! In the 90s, whenever I saw a video of the 70s, it looked really old. This seems like yesterday but it obviously looks old.
@@truthag6769 to be honest : I filmed it during eastern hollidays. Had an invitation to visit the former studio of Damien Hirst, which I did but didn’t film 😊😊

A Hi 8 Camera was a slimline luxury compared to an early VHS Camera which I used, a separate video recorder had to be strapped to to the body, it was like carrying a sack of Bricks! 😂
I was born in London way back in July 1974; shopping in Central London was always crowded ie Oxford Street, and Camden Town even back in the mid 90’s, so nothing has changed
Lived in London around this time so many fond memories
Looks about the same but without the tech and fewer coffee shops, I was 13 in 1997, def brings back memories xx

Thanks for this. Memories of a much simpler age.

So many things you don't see anymore, like that underground train conductors, or those trainers and especially @8:43 - a bobby on the beat.
When I was born in 1960 the world population was around 3 Billion now it's over 8 Billion !!
Ik ben geboren in 1961, wat is uw punt ?

When policemen wore V-neck jumpers and didn't dress like bloody Robocop. Great film by the way - thanks!
These shots are very well composed, well above average camerawork. You have a natural ability to capture details without a storyboard.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
It’s my job dear friend. It’s what I teach at the academy ….
I wasn’t aware of your work teaching at an Academy, I must’ve missed that bit somewhere.
filming during pre smartphone times was something different…..hi 8 camera’s were a little more bulky 😊

Back when life in London was very laid back not a stupid e-bike insight. I was 15 years old in 1997.
Mind the gap, everyone.
Shopping use to be fun and enjoyable. Now it’s just crowds stress and too busy with too many people

I miss the sex workers of soho.
Clearly you’re not watching the video attentively…..
Prostitutes, mate. They're prostitutes. And it's nothing good.
