- Last weekend, my son Nick and I set off on an epic camping adventure in the heart of De Soto National Forest! ✨ Our original campsite was locked up tight, but thankfully, we always come geared up with a Plan B, so off we went to explore a new spot.
I pitched my trusty Nemo Hornet ultralight tent while Nick got creative, crafting a cool bushcraft-style setup with just a tarp. Talk about resourcefulness! However, things took a bit of a turn when I accidentally popped my beloved Nemo Tensor ultralight sleeping pad. After all those trips together, it decided to meet its match with one of my aluminum stakes. Lesson learned!
For dinner, Nick brought along a boneless leg of lamb, which we decided to cook up for a twist on our usual camping meals. It was delicious, but I’m thinking next time we’ll opt for lamb chops instead! Sometimes you’ve just got to try something new, right? That's what life and adventures are all about!
