If you need more "clarification", the sadness (aka depression) is about a "specific thing" (losing the innocence of youth, etc) not in general about sadness... And in fact the waves could be interpreted as something "which carries us away" i.e. which carries away from being steady or in the past, so something positive... But as every art piece what it initiates is in the "eye of the beholder" so you interpret this on whatever way you want, I just gave "mine"...

This reminds me of all my friends I loved so so much but lost. I get attached too quickly and it's hard. Now I find it hard to trust anyone I have social anxiety. I hate it. I miss them so much. It's not just great taste, for me its grief and it literally comes and goes in waves, people say with time it gets better, but it's been twelve years since she left and coming up on six since my babies were taken, I work, I'm independent and was always a good dad, I still support them and still fighting to be a part of their lives, but when the waves of grief hit they always seem to get stronger and more intense, it's grief that's never gotten easier, it's suffocating and has broken me to my core, I stood staring out my back window everyday after work for the first three years watching the sun set choking on the lump in my throat, biting holes through my cheek trying to hold back tears that just seem to fall uncontrollably, literally everyday for the first three years that's 1,095 days plus before I could go a day without breaking, it's grief I'd never wish on another soul, it's grief that ate away not just at my soul but my body, do you know what it's like to have family constantly putting you in the hospital because you won't eat anything, it's not that I didn't want to eat, but grief like that doesn't let you, there's no appetite for anything and I didn't care, I just wanted my babies back, the first time I heard this song I cried so hard the breath was ripped from my lungs and I passed out (I was taken to the hospital for that one also) and didn't start breathing until my uncle started chest compressions, I listen to this to try and ease my grief, I still go through days I can't eat or sleep, but never more than three or four at a time. Time hasn't made the pain less, just the time between the waves that find my shore. If not for my family I wouldn't be here and because of it all I often go through physical pain in my chest I can feel in my hearts palpitations, it's enlarged my heart three times it's normal size, so it's either made my heart weaker, or stronger, I can't tell, I just know I'm still fighting to be a dad and not making it very far... The only ones I talk to are family and work colleagues, I wish I could love again, I wish I could see my babies more, though I'm terrified that another heart brake could easily stop my heart... Music is the best therapy, though it does nothing for a broken heart longing for affection.
