Great episode. I appreciate your ability to capture the life of a trucker. Having a few years experience and 9 years removed I love tuning into old, new, and your remastered videos. Your style is unique, sincere, and provides a relatable experience. Thanks for doing what you do sir.
Hi Indiana Jack. I just discovered your videos in January this year. I am Australian and am not a truck driver (I do love big machines though). When I was at high school in the 60s, I got an Artley flute, which like a lot of musical instruments, was manufactured in Elkhart Indiana - a place that I had never heard of. Over time, the large musical instrument manufacturers gobbled each other up (with the help of vulture capital guys) and it did not end well. I understand that Elkhart is now the centre of the RV manufacturing industry. In my early twenties I lived for 18 months in an small country town in New South Wales, and one day got to drive a 20 tonne cattle truck on a pickup out of town . It was an International with split axle - think it was 13 gears all up. That was fun. Also got to drive a Mercedes coach that had a broken windshield. It also had the split shift axle. Having been to the States about 50 times on business, I almost never get to see much outside of the big cities, with a few enjoyable exceptions. So your videos are really interesting to me, seeing the country. As you are a gentle soul with a good sense of humour, I find your videos very relaxing. Most nights I will look at at least one before going to bed in a happy state of mind! I hope that you are enjoying your new position.
Greetings from Ohio .... It's great going back and riding along ... Good stuff, and sure does jog the memories of times last. You're absolutely correct in saying that whenever you experience a fatality on the road, that it upsets one's entire day ..... As I sat here listening to your comment, I found myself sitting here and nodding yes. I too, have seen more of these fatalities than I even care to remember ... At times, freak circumstances that claimed only one life, while at other times passing by after entire families had perished. Prayers for all indeed. On a lighter note, thank you sir, for sharing with us the various areas of beauty through the States. Each state offers it's own beauty. Some offer many different kinds within. Again, thank you for sharing. Stay safe and well, one and all.
To some these may be reruns, but some of these I’m watching for the first time. Been up and down that rout between California and Utah on many occasions, it is a beautiful drive especially thru that little canyon.
I love that stretch through the Canyon. The 1st time i drove through there, i fell in love. I think it's time for a long over do, "Road Trip". Have a great day IJ
Hello indiana Jack...Love your videos...but love to see one from now!!! I will be back to trucking soon..either owning my own truck or driving for another. You are the best!
Is the bridge at the beginning of the video, the Vincent Thomas Bridge? I use to pick up in San Pedro, Wilmington, Long Beach years ago. I never liked that bridge when it was windy and raining.
I think I missed this trip originally. Looked enjoyable, it was for me. You're correct about seeing an accident, guess I'm not the only one that it affects. I've always wondered the how and why. People need to slow down and focus more on driving. Driving is like gambling, except you can really lose BIG. No one EVER plans on a trip including body bags. Hope things are well in Florida, trucking like life, really is an ADVENTURE. Oh, let me add, buckle up, it might be a nuisance at first, it was for me many years ago, but I couldn't imagine not using seatbelts now.
Jack I see you’ve took my advice from a few months ago saying you should upload these old episodes as a throwback, anyway we miss you out here on the road man
Hi Jack, Its been decades since I have been in San Pedro, but I know the entire route I-15 well since I live next door to Salt lake City, I -15 in the middle of nowhere in Utah is a known a Killer highway, every year there are roll overs/ejections with fatalities there.... as is the usual habit no one was wearing their seat belts! I remember this on the news back in Feb 2020; the best part of Baker, CA is that the Freeway goes right on by.... Primm, NV you got to stop and just once in your life ride the Primmadonna.... the Virgin River Gorge I-15 was the most expensive stretch of I-15 construction and it is due to Politics ;...Arizona wanted their cut of federal highway money so they got the freeway build there, the easier and far less expensive route would have been from Littlefield AZ up north to St George Ut along the old hwy! A few years back when federal hwy money was tight Arizona whinned that they do not have enough money nor generate enough revenue for this part of I 15 for which they are now responsible as well, L o L ! Corinne, Ut, the original Rail Road Station building was moved to Heber City, Ut, years ago and is now the Depot/Station for the Heber Valley Rail Road... The best 2 words that gladen the Truckers heart are "Scales Closed"..!
When I was a boy and well into my early twenties, there was nothing at Pimm NV except a couple of gas stations, some abandon buildings and a very small restaurant and casino on the north side of the l-15. Most importantly before the gas crunch of the 70's when speed limits were changed to 55 mph on all highways , the speed limit from Primm to Jean NV was wide open like the autobahn in Germany and boy did truckers and 4 wheelers take advantage of that. Last Nov. 2019, I took a trip from Ohio where I have lived for 33 yrs, out to see my brother in southern Cal and the speed limit on l-15 for trucks and any vehicle pulling a trailer is 55 mph.
This maybe a re run, still worth watching, call it a trip back in time...... camera angles and positions are great, you definitely had a thought outside the box 👍🇬🇧😎
As sad as accidents are life still goes on. Informative videos without excessive drama are always nice to see. Small drama always happens though, we can live with that - like ending up with the wrong shampoo.
Mr jack it's been awhile since I've watched any videos and the last one I watched of yours you weren't driving anymore I know you probably don't want to hear it but hopefully your back at again? Take care and be safe out there
Lake Delores commercials when you were a kid? How old are you Jack? I thought you were around my age of 66 and that water park was built when I was a younger man in my twenties living in Las Vegas
Great video my friend hope you’re doing well in your new job in Florida but I do like watching your older videos when you were still driving . May GOD BLESS and always be with you. Until next time, later my friend.
Sir INDIANA JACK !!! Thanks for sharing !!! NOW,,What's going on in Lakeland ,FL. With Your NEW JOB????? Think you said that you were gona stay in SAFETY ???? ""KEEP IT SAFE ""!!!
I recall seeing badly crunched autos displayed on the interstate reminding drivers to drive safe . This was in Texas...back in the 1970's . Seeing accidents certainly will shake up your day...for sure
I know what you mean about seeing accidents like that, especially seeing body bags. It really sets in you and messes with your mind for quite some time. Nobody wants to see people injured or death
love how the go pro catchs the lugs we all know there Spinning faster then That jacks truck had these mounting base on door & the bumper clamp to mirror support rods ~ at the accident scene Seen like one car driving wrong way ~ notice there are two set of tire skid marks on road as in video
Your a skilled trucker and a kind hearted man. You know when to have humour ( your the best trucker at comedy that's for sure) but sensitive to the fact there was a serious accident with lives lost. As ya say it affects your WHOLE DAY. On tv news in past they showed a mock (pretending) accident to high school students for the purpose for them to drive safely and within speed limit. But then these high schoolers later watch movies or video games with speeding cars... Are there no speed limits on some Nevada freeways? Kinda crazy in my thinking if so. One scary time on the road was like 2am I had just crossed the border from Wa. State (Blaine USA border town) and was 3 miles going north on the 4 lane highway going towards Vancouver BC. Hardly no cars on the highway & suddenly up ahead was these headlights getting closer & closer... Oh man then realized this car was coming at a high speed and the driver is going south bound on north bound lanes !!!! I just pulled into the far right shoulder and came to a stop as this car went zipping by. Buyer beware in business eater beware what ya eat driver beware when on roads..... Now we have the beware of all the unseen viruses about that can make a guy sickkkkkkk Beware beware beware..but don't get phobic. Beware of becoming phobic. Trucker Ray hope your adjusting to your new job in Florida. Your bring a wealth of knowledge/experience to trucking safety.
Greetings Jack. It appears to me that you might be missing life on the road. You're spending a lot of time reliving past adventures. Not a problem for me. I enjoy the posts but it sure seems like you are not as happy driving a desk as you were on the road. I'm retired now and I've been advised that I spend a fair amount of time telling stories of my glory days to anyone who stops by to visit. I think I've a few years on you, but I'm beginning to see similarities with what you share. I understand. I got put in an office for a while before I was put out to pasture. I was never as content checking data and reviewing paperwork as I was when I was tearing up the roadways. This is not a criticism Jack. I enjoy your trips down memory lane. It nice to see "Old Red"....... sometimes it sucks getting old, doesn't it.
What can you say about being a safety officer for a truck company? Not much just like it was when he was working a Travelocko...which I'd like to know the real reason why he left besides wanting to be closer to family and better weather but I'm sure it was also due to Travelocko being a joke of a company
Trucker Ray as ya showed an accident on the highway & people dying.... In Canada two yrs ago was one of the worst trucking/bus accidents...in Saskatewan province had a truck going thru a stop sign & a bus carrying hockey players hit the trailer. Bus driver & many others killed. Those who were not killed were injured badly. The driver of the truck is in prison right now. Oh ya there was a bad accident in BC province ...snowy foggy down hill night time ( I think. ) two a Greyhound buses skid off road & other cars pile up & then some semi comes along like a bowling ball.... Here are all these pro drivers getting into accidents. Now if they drove according to conditions (slow down) everyone gets from A to B.
I have been to many mva’s like that when I was with the fire department. Now I see a lot of them from people who kill bikers because they are on their cell phones not paying attention to what’s around them. On an average day I see Ofer 50 people on their phones read a paper or doing makeup
I like reruns. Tell ya what. Indiana Jack is a thinker & if he thinks reruns are the way to go...then I a less thinker should not argue the fact. He knows best.

I hope you are well. I miss you're video's. I am still trucking myself. I enjoy running into California. Beautiful scenery. Be safe.
A nice memorable ride Jack. Thanks for sharing it once again. Hope the new job is working out well for you.

Ah, dear old Barstow. Usually got a wash at Lil’ Sisters before heading into LA area. Gotta’ get rid of the salt! Love the old footage. Thanks!

Love the revisit of these Jack. I enjoy the videos!
Thanks Jack hope to hear how the new job is going. Also do you ever hear how old Red is doing???
03/09/2020: Happy Birthday, Jack. Hope you had a great one. Take care.

Hello Indiana Jack! What’s currently going on with you down in Florida with your latest gig ? Thanks! 👍
Do you have a co-pilot now, or are you returned to the truck?
Just got back home and passed a travel loco truck on 65, wasn't old red though
I sure miss Indiana Jack, he is one of my three favourites, the other two are Super trucker Dan, and Sergei Dratchev.

Hoping for a video on new job. Something new besides old reruns I have seen.

Are you still with TravelLoco?

Who knows
I bet the Accident was ROAD RAGE...it was a Straight stretch....SAD!!!!!
2:12 you have black on beard. 4:00 you don't, WHY?
Why call it life after trucking when hes still doing it.
It has been forever since I have seen A Sinclair oil sign.
Lol Lisa DelTaco.. I understand now
