There comes a time in sports when the desire to demolish becomes tasteless and classless. With four or five goals ahead, the message had been sent and there was no way Sao Tome was coming back. Rather than continue the demoralizing onslaught of a much lower ranked nation, I would have respected the fielding of Nigeria's second or third choice players. Sao Tome is more likely equal to Nigeria's second and third choice players. Would have given them playing time and also offered a fellow African Nation an opportunity to not be as humiliated in a match that had already been won. A good result for the Super Eagles of Nigeria. The opposition was weak but they got the job done and showed that the gulf in quality was glaring. I will like to see the Team use this 442 formation against a stronger team. The wingers did their job of making good crosses for Osihmen to finish off. This wing play was the major strength of Nigeria some time ago especially during the days of Finidi George and Emmanuel Amunike. They supplied the Late Rashidi Yekini and he got a lot of goals. I can see similarities between Yekini and Osihmen. Both have good physical presence, speed, good scoring ability etc. Looking forward to seeing this formation more regularly...it may be the way to go !
