From what I understand an Exothermic reaction is one that releases energy and makes bonds. So to me it doesn't make sense that Catabolism is and Exergonic reaction. Because Catabolism is breaking bonds?!
the breaking of the bonds releases energy. the energy from catabolism is harnessed in anabolism to build molecules, which requires energy input bc we are creating order, which is unfavorable since the universe favors disorder

Exergonic think exit energy exits so break things get energy like you break down your food and get energy. It releases energy and breaks bonds
