Watching 2 penholders play each other is a pleasure to watch
Xue Fei is very entertaining to watch.
Here's my analyze of the match, for the few people who probably care. :)
Xu Xin did not play up to his usual level, and he ruined his own game by making many errors in the short / serve game. I will still have to give credit for Xue Fei for playing an incredible match. I was surprised to see his abilities, and he for sure has some amazing shots in his game that can be scary even for the best in the world.
The Penhold vs Penhold match-up is always exciting to see! Especially when it is a Righthander VS a Lefthander.
The penhold grip enables a lot more arm movement, and FH potentiel, when executed correctly, so the penhold players will attempt to attack, and dominate the game with their forehand usually. XF (Xue Fei) did a very good job at keeping XX (Xu Xin) from using his strong forehand, and dominated many points by locking down XX's gameplan, and playing balls to XX's BH in the open rallies.
XX struggled in the push game, and XF could easily take many points by simply attacking early towards XX's BH.
Both players were constantly playing a race to the FH every point. XF played the game tactically perfectly, and managed to take the win. :)

This marvellous 12 is a good trial but I don't like the format.
Imagine xue fei playing to this good level,came third on the table above XX and LGY but wasn't given any ticket to WTTC 2019.even WCQ whose performance is poor was given ticket to pair with ma long in doubles.
Forward to 2024 xue fei not on form, and I don't think could challenge Felix Lebrun ( now xu xin has retired)
Xue Fei’s FH flick close to the net is among the best in penholders.
Xue Fei almost beat Ma Long this year. He has improved so much over the last few years. He’s no longer playing BH only.
xue fei is definitely going to be up there with Fan Zhendong in a few years
Not Fan he's in a league of his own right now. And like Zhang and Ma Long nobody touches them till their prime starts ending.

No. Fzd is another lvl. But this guy will improve no doubt.

Why don't we see more Xue Fei in ITTF Pro Tour?
He does play world tour! Although his game at its peek is incredible, his WR is not very high, so he has to qualify to the main draw through the preliminary rounds... He often loses though before reaching the main draw :p
Flat shots from XF are uncomfortable for XX.
