I have the 12 foot version. On mine, the top end caps come off, and hooks plug into place. I start pulling up from the BOTTOM, and that leaves me the top 3 steps still compressed. Fatter tubes, less flexing. I bungee cord it to the top of my roof-top deck so it doesn't slide. I'd rather have one of these than a permanent mounted ladder that would be a magnet for rapscallions!
There's all different sizes, those rubber caps are to keep the ladder from sliding left to right when leaning on something. The feet turn to help with angle.. Awesome ladder to hide away and to reach on top of ur camper. Great video
I found an exact duplicate of this ladder for $100 less at Rec Pro online. I bought it to have when I picked up my camper and then camped for three days. It saved my bacon when I had to retract my awing manually because of a wiring flaw (easily fixed that later.) I agree with the comment about the hooks on the back catching on things in my storage pass through. Other than that, it's great.
Lippert is pretty proud of these. How difficult would it be to fabricate some removable hooks for a non-lippert compatible ladder? Thanks for word of God at the end! Blessings.
You are not kidding that they are "very" proud of them! You could fabricate something similar for a fraction of the cost. But I found a better solution after I made this video. Check out this product which is compatable with the Lippert receiver. But It is about $60-70 cheaper. It sure looks like he same thing to me. amzn.to/3s0HGgZ

I wanted to see you actually climb onto the roof. This is useful for people to see how it's done, getting onto the roof and getting off as there really aren't videos showing people how to properly do that.
@@jeremsgarage I'd appreciate it. I looked hard to find a video on that subject because it makes me uneasy getting onto my motor home roof. I use a little giant ladder and place it over the ladder on the rv, so the narrow rv ladder is in the middle. The little giant is so much better as I just don't like the attached ladder.

Thank you for the tip on saving some $$, I love the ladder but the price is excessive for just two hooks being added.

I have watched 5 different videos of people standing on this ladder but never once has anyone stepped on top of their RV with it. What gives?
