One dead, two injured due to electric shock in Gurugram

A woman died, and two others were injured after coming in contact with an 11,000-volt electric wire early Friday in the Bhawani area of Cyber City in Gurugram, Haryana.
The 40-year-old woman, Sunita, was electrocuted while cleaning the house. It happened when she was shifting a metal frame bed on the terrace and it came into contact with a live wire.
Sunita's son and sister-in-law were injured as they tried to to rescue her. The duo have been sent to hospital for treatment.
Neighbours mentioned that Sunita's daughter was supposed to get married on Saturday, July 13, which is why she was cleaning the house.
Residents also claim that they have filed several complaints to the electricity department to have the transformer removed from the area, but some officials demanded Rs 2-3 lakhs to complete the job.
