Great review. I recently sold my old 24-70 GM for the newer 20-70 f4. No regrets. I enjoy the wider focal length and lightweight. I plan to couple it with the 85-prime lens
kind of love this - how would you rate it compared to the 24-105 f/4? is the extra 4mm on the wide end worht the extra 35 on the tight end? id love to see a comparison on those two!
This lens has great focal range. It’s always a trade off between a faster lens and focal range (size & weight), goals and where & how you will be using it. The 20-70 F4 is super sharp and in comparison to what it offers it’s a good deal and great travel lens. The F4 is only one stop and with Sonys ability the handle higher ISO it’s perfectly fine.
Nice video Kensei ! Thanks for sharing ! I know it's a lot of work to ask, but can you please make a video comparison with this, the Sony 28-70 kit lens and the Sigma 28-70 Contemporary which is a lightweight midrange zoom lens please ? Or which one would you advice to buy between the 3 lenses ?
Had this 20-70mm lens, but traded in for PZ 16-35 f4. It is better for my ZVE1, especially when using Dynamic Active stab. The crop factor with ultra wide lens is awesome. I find PZ16-35mm produces sharper image than 20-70mm. I also love the zoom in button, which i use a lot for my video. I find myself rarely use the 60-70mm range. If i want to use a mid telephoto range that is only for bokeh and i have 50mm prime f2.8 macro as my second lens for that purpose. That is all my lens for the moment, which i find really useful for me.
@@jasontaycs7195 yeah you are right. Other than sharpness, i find the the zoom level is also useful for my video.. when zooming in and out. It is smooth and look pro.
This lens is perfect for street photography which usually done with daylight. Usually street photography use f/8-f/16 so f/4 is the worthy compromise to its size
Hi ! That was such a great review as always! I own 28-70 f2.8 from Tamron and I assume that you own this one. Do you see any differences between them ? p.s As a Japanese viewer I'm just wondering how you train your English skill. It doesn't sound like US or UK.
At this point I haven't compared them side by side so I don't have a solid insight yet, but one thing I can say is this 20-70mm is easier to handle. p.s. about my English."Friends" "Prison Break" Those shows taught me 😊
As a owner of Zv-e1 I was so undecided between this lens and 16-35 f4. I bought 16-35 for the wider field of view but I'm missing 70 mm zoom. Anyway good review!
I returned this lens, didn’t find its performance any better than any cheap kit lens from Sony. With that price point, it’s better investing in the sigma 24-70 2.8 II
Kensei, I LIKE YOUR VIDEOS MAN! If that lens was f/2.8 I would be so interested. Regardless still a great lens. Have you heard there might be 24 - 70mm f/2.0 coming soon. If yes then my 24-70mm 2.8 (II) is GONE.
i tried using my a7iii ... it is very sharp at f/7-f/11 and i absolutely love this durin g day time .... but during night time or low light conditions ...its not good , everything looks dark and noisy.
Right, that’s exactly the weak point of an f4 lens, but to capture certain moments, we humans need light. That's what we need to consider when using cameras...😅

Finally! I've been waiting for your review of this lens! 😅😅😅
Thank you for waiting!!
I am torn between tamron 28-75 G2 and Sony 20-70, what do you think? Thank you!
気になっているレンズ、Kenseiさんのレビューが見れて嬉しかったです。とても参考になりました!

レンズよりも初めて聞くけんせいさんの日本語が新鮮でした😂BTW とてもいいレンズですね👍
Do you like this lens more than the 24-50mm f/2.8?
Or the Tamron 20-40 f/2.8 for that matter? Curious too...
I haven't tried it yet, but I will soon!

Glad you made the right decision!
16-35mm PZ is sooo sharp. Basically GM tier but just f/4. I love it

Would you recommend it for someone who wants to do gym stuff for content like Instagram or UA-cam?
I guess that would be good option if the gym is bright enough. The weakness of f4 lens is only the brightness🔅
Thanks for waiting!

If it's A7III, F4 is not gonna be that huge deal!
Bro, can you do 24-50 2.8 G?
your friend is fun xD
💖💖🔥🔥
Thanks!!
4:52 - bullshit. Lens without stabilisation.
That’s right, but I guess he meant IBIS : )
I just wanted to say the gunuine lens could bring the maximum IBIS potential from the camera
