Mai may release just before or on New Year's Day. 🤔 Her birthday is 1/1 and is a big deal with the SNK fandom. Coupling that with how SF6 loves running those birthday events, she'd most likely have to release right around then. 👀
Ohh I didn't know that. My best guess then would be that they release the "Mai is Here" season pass in December and she comes out 1/1, or they release the pass in December/January and she comes out February

the problem is also the monetization outside of the collabs. i have no problem with buying skins (my fortnite account proves it 💀), but in this game they are fricking expensive, and they don't even make a bundle for them. it's a shame, because i like a lot of the alts they've been putting out
Yea it’s crazy how they don’t have bundles for outfit 3s and general DLC items. They’ve done them in the past so idk what’s changed

@@kingalbert513 Barely. You still have to spend six bucks to get one skin for one character. In the past, you could spend six bucks for a bundle of maybe four or five skins. That's better value.

Terry being here makes the most sense, since Fatal Fury is around the corner, and Mai is for the health of the game, Baiken treatment.
Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if that new Fatal Fury game ends up having some SF characters as their season pass DLC. Considering the Famitsu article and talks of how they were thinking of this collaboration 2 years ago.
The constant avatar costumes are such a freaking disappointment and must divert so much time off of actual character costumes.
Yeah, which sucks for people like me who only plays rank mode or labs to get better. More costumes for the characters would be better for people who don't have any interest in game modes that uses the avatars.
Why would it divert time from character costumes? Of course they have different teams.
Honestly, I'm fine with 4 a year, the devs did say they take 18-24 months to make, and most modern fighting games like Tekken and Guilty Gear are doing 4 a year (Majority of GG season passes as S1 had 5 characters)
That being said, they seriously need to improve these release dates so the wait gap isn't another almost unbearable 5 months. With Bison releasing quite literally a month after akuma, we have essentially 11 months to release 3 DLC characters, which means regardless, we'll have a 4 month (or another 5 month) wait for either 1 or 2 of them. I'm glad he's releasing since, y'know, people love characters, but Capcom really should of released Bison in either July or August, which allows for a more rational wait time for the other DLC fighters. I seriously would not be surprised if Terry releases in October, Mai in February and Elena in May. Making us wait 4 months for 2 characters.
This is my personal problem with the release schedule, and I seriously hope they fix this with year 3.
You could also consider or add the fact that GGST and Tekken launches more patches and balances more frequently. Moving the balance is important to be able to make the characters more interesting or avoid saturation in a game with so few characters (compared to others).
Tekken 8 had 32 characters at launch without missing many legacy/fan favorite characters. SF6 had 18 characters at launch missing a bunch of legacy/fan favorite characters which is the big issue with SF6. Its similar to how SFV S2 DLC was initially poorly received cause it was a season of Akuma and 5 new comers with a game missing a lot of fan favorites.
@@exiaR2x78 I mean that's how I felt about season 1. As cool as they made Rashid and ed, and obviously AKI I'd a new fan favorite.....but it's all from street fighter 5 outside of akoomer. We NEED 3s representation and more final fight characters in the game that takes place literally in metro city lol.
@@666slateran666 Yeah like I dont get how they made their character choices Rashid and Ed weren't exactly the most popular/well liked new comers of SFV, Rashid was on the lower end usage wise and Ed was on the higher end. But 100% agree the game is the first one set after 3 and no SF3 charatcers until Elena who isnt all the requested anyway. Theres also no Alpha characters, the game is way to SF2 heavy on the roster and ngl would many people even care if they didnt bring back Honda or SIm?
@@exiaR2x78 as someone who's played Honda since 4 I'd be pretty gutted lmao. And sim is one of the few zoners in the game so he's fitting. But yeah no representation for the games people actually like is weird. It'll get better but it's gonna take some years
My mental health can *NOT* take another gap like between A.K.I. and Ed.
The characters are cool but there should be 6 characters in the season now, bare minimum 5. As cool as Terry and Mai are, having 2 of 4 slots taken by guests when we don't have characters like Dudley is criminal.
The Outfit 3's still being so much even with the little discounts for the anniversary and still no bundle is ridiculous. The entire lack of costumes combined with the prices make me almost glad that we haven't gotten any swimsuit costumes yet.

Sales wise it did so bad it caused Street Fighter to be put on hold for a decade the balance is dogshit (7 yuns/chuns in top 8 of evo japan 2024 lmao) and its just generally a terrible game to play. We'll probably get like one to three more SF3 characters (Ibuki, Makoto, and I suppose the twins/Alex/Dudley, maybe also Urien/Gill), and the one we have now is from NG.
Something like new moves or a single-player expansion could fill the gap nicely:

None of my favorites got into 5 besides Rose and Oro and that was in the last season.
Meanwhile Bison gets to be in multiple games in a row and gets added back this early on.

@@twistedrivera Yes. I wanted more SF characters (that aren’t from 2 or 5 unless it’s G).
It’s also the fact we get 4 characters at a time. 2 guests and another 2 rep is a slap in the face.
Maybe if she were added in another season later down the line, I’d have enjoyed it.
But I also don’t care much about SNK. I have some characters I like but on the whole, I’ve only played one of the older games and the latest one and when I play SF, I want SF characters.
I just hope we don’t get anymore crossover characters (Final Fight and Rival Schools doesn’t count of course).
When I look at Tekken and especially MK, I’m happy SF doesn’t have many crossovers but I’m scared it won’t remain that way for long
They should have committed to him being dead for at least one game like what Tekken did. I personally just want to see new characters instead of the same one's that have been around for 2~3 decades

I want characters from previous games. Just not from 2 as they always get special treatment. Of course Ryu and Chun should always be in but I want Sodom, Necro, Adon, Hugo, Dudley, Makoto, Q, and other characters we haven’t seen for a while back.
Bison being back once again restricts SF to grow past him, hell SF3 remains the only game when Bison/Shadaloo is absent entirely and the game did just fine without him. They're basically making him the Rugal of the series.

A Yor costume for Chun would've been a license to print money. That said, I'm fine with 4 characters year given the work that goes into each one, but I definitely agree that they need to space them out better, and the collabs are cool in concept but bungled in execution

After playing through the Bison DLC storyline, I think you're wrong on season 3 being dedicated to SF3. Looks like Vega and Balrog are coming back first.
I want to see Batsu, Roberto, Skullamania, D Dark, Garuda, Dudley, Gen and a curveball Ada Wong. I think she would be a good character to bring into a fighting game series.
Not only DLC problem, the soundtrack has been the most mediocre it has been in the entire series, still not as bad as a nrs game but the soundtrack of 6 feeling so toothless feels like a concious decision just to make the jukebox mode more appealing and convince you to spend currency on themes.
I'm in a real hope that we get balance patches mid terry and mai time, specially with a coming capcom cup a that time, i'm really big fan with this conception in a dota 2 where developers making pre-international patches
I'm fine with Terry being in Street Fighter 6. It was bound to happen, seeing how the creator of Streets is also the creator of Fatal Fury.
Mai on the other hand i could really care less. She's not all that popular and is just here for the sex appeal.
Capcom vs SNK 3 is inevitable at this point.
Mai is very popular. In there remake of Fatal Fury 1, they had to add Mai to the fighters list because she was a fan favorite.

Dudley.Fei long, dont know but always had a dream to see Haggar,Guy and Cody in this game. but I read a leak once and the leak said Bison will appears in rags.. this same leak did a metion about.. Vega.. and Elena.. so to me next season.. Vega.. maybe appears.. o yeah the leak said in brown hair and I miss so much the cartoonish style of SF..

To answer your question... No, I don't like the characters, there aren't enough characters, the gap between characters is too long, and the characters are too expensive.
This was a pretty big whiff for me. I put the game down waiting for Ed and only picked it up again for Akuma. I have a feeling I'm going to be dropping the game for quite some time. $70 CAD for 4 characters, 8 costumes and 2 stages (that aren't even out yet lol) is absolute madness when I'll be playing Shadow of the Erdtree for $53.49.

I'm happy with 4 dlc characters for a season cause I hate and I'm to lazy to learn a new matchup for every new character. I just hope we get new colors; I've seen a red jacket, white top and pants mod for Cammy that reminds me of Ronin from Rouge Company which I wish we had on consoles and also new skins for each character.
i was really disappointed with the new season of dlc initially but i am trying to not be angry as much bc it's bad for my mental health and i can't do anything about what these giant corporations decide. i do really like Mai in kof and fatal fury and think she will be fun to play and same with some of the others
Its really weird how the game has the battle pass and fighter coins and all that jazz which is made to squeeze consumers money using fomo and predatory pricing BUT they haven't released costumes for chun li yet.
If Mai is supposed to come out around January or February 2025, they shouldn’t have placed her last in the reveal image. It really gives the impression that she’s not coming until November or December 2025.

Lol I'm disappointed my main isn't in, but I don't think the pass is necessarily bad. SF having their first official collab characters is huge and opens things up for the future, my only problem is that it's 4 characters for the pass again. I was hoping we would at least get 5, but it is what it is

I was all in on this game but left due to the shitty DLC and updates.
What’s the point in getting more costumes for world tour if there’s no New Game + for the mode so that I can redo the story with my custom characters with more moves to make my play style fit with my new looks.
They should have had a system where with collab if you buy a skin for your avatar, you buy a skin for one of the main cast. For example if this system was in place you buy the leonardo skin for your avatar and Ryu.
I’m not just gonna stick around with just Battle Hub as the only mode that actually gets dlc content.

The issue of me not having a character was solved instantly with terry. He's been a dream pick for me in a Street fighter game since IV.
Sort of same here. Mai's been my SNK forever main for years so het being here is great for me. Also the two SF fighters I wanted most were Sakura and Elena so I got half if that. I can wait another year or two for Sakura. Elena, Mai, and Manon will be enough mains to last me till then. Terry can join Marisa as my other "fuck around with sometimes for a change" character.
Though this is all about subjective taste so I do get why some would still be dissapointed. I'm an SNK nut but not everyone else is.

If you think Sf6 is bad, you should see tekken 8. As a guy who loves tekken 8, Bandai is pure scum when it comes to season passes and monetization. The dlc is also pure garbage with them just rehashing dlc from tekken 7 and eddy who was a tekken staple for many games, being resorted to dlc as well . Monietization is a plague among fighting games. Atleast when smash did dlc, you knew it was 1000% worth the price.

Im glad more people are starting to complain about the SF6 roster and DLC. Such a missed opportunity with the Spy x Family collab if it was a Chun Li or even a Cammy costume would have made so much money.
S1 DLC was a miss with character selection imo and if they only going to do 4 characters a year they really need to hit the missing fan favorites. Its funny we wont have a SF3 character till 2025 in the first game set post SF3. 2 years of DLC and no characters from the Alpha games. Like wtf are Capcom doing? A lot of the SF2 characters on the base roster I dont think people would have cared if they werent on the base roster.

Oh I think the pass is good and have no doubts when Terry and Mai come out that they will look and play GREAT as with most of the SF characters. Capcom will COOK, but I can see how only 4 characters for the season and 2 of them being SNK characters would leave a bad taste for players that were excited and expecting more Street Fighter characters.
@@twistedrivera They need to suck it up. We're only the people playing the game, and the people buying and playing the game doesn't mean they get to decide where the game's direction is going. People have delusions of grandeur when it comes to these season passes, and either be patient, or go play something else. SNK and Capcom cooking some good shit is bigger than the DLC we want, or the DLC people are crying about. People just need to be cool, and just enjoy the ride.

Yea I did call myself an idiot for that segment because I shouldn't have succumbed lol. I do however believe that I have the right to criticize how bad the things were because I bought and used the costumes enough to see what they could have done with them instead. Considering how the collab went though, from that day forward I decided to not buy/support those things in the future unless if they do things better for the next time

Overpriced DLC, only 4 characters a year compared to SF5‘s 6 DLC characters who were released from March to September and the first season pass featured characters that should’ve been either in the base roster or completely left out with Aki being the only character from the DLC that wasn’t in SF5.

And they launched world tour basically broken so i never even finished it. Imagine leaving super armor on every npc for months in your casual single player mode. It was cancer. @pn2294 also it was extremely clear that they took clothes out of World Tour just to FOMO fortnite battlepass stuff, and do nothing to update world tour besides adding a cutscene for each dlc character. It ended on a massive cliffhanger where your friend gets killed and the main character learns nothing.

But honestly this season is incredibly frustrating as we lost 2/4 slots to guest characters. I own KOF15. I play street fighter to play street fighter characters.
I will be very surprised if Terry and Mai bring in a bunch of new players. SNK players and SF players there is already a lot of cross over with those player bases. SNK games dont have some massive casual player base that might try SF6 cause Terry and Mai are in it
@@exiaR2x78 "SNK games dont have some massive Casual player base" but they do still have a massive 'player base'.Plus theres history here....Capcom's Streetfighter, SNK's Fatal Fury & King of Fighters was created by the same guy Takashi Nishiyama.Also there's alot of mutual respect between these developers of fighting games in Japan currently hence they are helping each other out here...incase u don't know yet,SNK is planning a revival with many of their games & it clearly looks like Capcom is helping.Just look at the new Fatal Fury: City Of Wolves trailer....they aren't changing their core style but it definitely looks like they're matching streetfighter 6 a little bit....& speaking of "casual player base" think of an influx of new casual players that will start playing future SNK games if SNK also implements Modern Controls. Im fine with not getting whom I want in the game as long as whoever is given is still a fun addition to the game.

Nobody said anything negative about Akuma in Tekken but for the first time in history SF has guest characters and fanboys going irate, bizarro.
@@mikeg2491 Tekken 7 also had a launch roster of 32 characters ircc with 1 being a guest character. The roster also had very few popular legacy character missing. People did complain as well that there was no Julia, Lei ect.
Please capcom, do not mess up Mai’s appearance, that’s all I ask for.
I don't think they will. I mean, look at Cammy and how much her ass jiggles during certain animations, especially in her classic outfit.

Mika's ass pat, Juri's costume, not allowing some of the swimwear in tournaments) in order to appease certain sponsors for certain tournaments. They seem to rolled that back for SF6 so far - Classic Cammy costume anyone? - but you just never know.

I like their approach to character costumes in this game. They're all high quality and align with the characters and their personality. In the past they were just shoveling immersion breaking garbage.

I never liked stuff like Red Bull Ryu, Megaman, and stuff like this. I just think we should get more of what we are getting now.
I think I'm just gonna skip out this season. Season one already taught me that it is not worth the wait for anything this game has to offer. Maybe season three will have my attention if the roster choices are right.
The weird thing about collabs is that it seems to be a larger problem happening at Capcom.
I don't play much fighting games (i just find them neat to watch), but a similar thing happened to another Capcom IP: Monster Hunter.
They had insane collabs in MH:World with a hole questline for Final fantasy and "The Witcher" (with the latter having Geralt VA actually voice the titular character)
But then in the next installment MH:Rise they completely fumbled them. Like at most the "special quest" you were getting would barely qualify as a minigame. It's so weird.
Yea I remember GRINDING that Witcher quest and also playing through the FF one. Crazy to me how they have had amazing collaborations in the past that were done justice to what we have had now in recent years

In a recent interview, the devs said development for characters went from 6 months in sfv to 12+ months. Terry and Mai have been in the works since early 2023. combine that with the gap between Akuma and Bison being so small, it's safe to assume that year 4 characters are being worked on, if not being conceptualized, alongside year 2.
The problem is, it’s not just SF6 that has an abysmal „amount of characters per season pass“ problem. Tekken 8 and Guilty Gear strive also only release 4 characters per season pass which will take almost a year too which is them just going the greedy route, like the rest of the videogame market. Ironically enough, it’s MK1 with the best DLC schedule, with 6 DLC characters per season pass.
I mean, remember SF5 who included 6 DLC Characters in the first season? Not only that, but the Story mode was released during that time too and Alex was released in March as the first and Urien was released last in September. Now *THAT* was some good DLC work
Ok but to be fair, there's no way Mortal Kombat 1 characters require as much effort as SF6 or T8 characters because of small movepools and a lack of good animation
SF6 and Tekken characters look more realistic, which takes more time and money, and don't even get me started on Guilty Gear. They have to make multiple models for a character because sometimes they swap models for certain moves, they deform models like crazy to get that anime smear-frame look, they make expressions for every Faust wheelchair, ect. I don't care if we only get 4 characters a year, I know the work that it takes to make a single character, I just want a more consistent feed of content and not a random 5 month gap.
@@flamingpaper7751 and there’s no way it logically took almost half a year to create and release Ed when Rashid and Aki were both released within the same time span. Not to mention the same thing now with Akuma and M. Bison. And not even that, MK1, despite having *the worst* pricing on costumes *ever,* they still release multiple costumes on a regular while it took a year for Capcom to create the 3rd outfit for characters and a lot of them are nothing special, to the point that modders are doing a better job for free. SF6 does not make up quality for the lack of quantity

Oh, congrats, GG Strive adds extra animations on Faust‘s super, meanwhile MK1 adds *countless* different facial expressions for each Fatality and then have to always work on making the Fatalities work on every character including different skeletons and body types. Not to mention them also having to always bring back *every* VA to record new voice lines for each new DLC Character (which includes paying extra for JK Simmons and John Cena), then they also do sidework for every Kameo character that comes with a DLC Character and the Fatal Blows. And those are the same people that created the Quitality for ragequitters while Tekken 8 still does *nothing* against them.
NRS does just as much work as the others, but at least they’re actually on a good time schedule

the Season Passes should've been 6 characters. with Season 1 having the Turtles and Yor being guests. which would've butterflied Terry and Mai in Season 2.
I would love season 2. If it had crimson or any sf4 character that never came bcak like Hakan. As a 5th character.
One of my biggest pet peeves with sf6 content is the costume release format. I’m pretty sure they’re always gonna try and release a bunch of costumes all at once instead of just giving us 3 or 4 characters costumes every month or so. It would make the games “waiting for dlc” drought feel less lame since they’re technically giving us constant content, and it’s not just fighting pass and avatar content. Or better yet, put random characters outfit 4s as part of the fighting pass every month, just space them out so it feels like everyone has something good in the battle pass, whether you only care about avatar stuff or actual game stuff.
Yeah, those 2 collabs the game had in Season 1 were pretty bad. I'm glad that Season 2 is at least making up for that by adding actual guest characters instead of just making them skins for your avatar.
4 characters is wack, but is wack because the initial roster was abysmally low made even wackier when the picks for season 1 were the worst they've could be. I mean, why the fuck do we have ED in the game? And Rashid could wait. Aki as as new comer is fine and Akuma should have been base roster.
I think “echo fighters” would be a nice way to pad out the roster/DLC packs.

Like, it's time to up the max level cap of World Tour. I've been level 100 since AKI released I think, and there's no challenge for people who have been playing the game since the game released. They give us like 4 small quests on World Tour per character and call it a day.
That map and the story needs to be expanded. Juri's arcade prologue and ending makes no sense now that Bison is alive again. The World Tour ending was depressing and underwhelming. Ken's situation with JP will probably be ignored now that Bison is back. It's like they set stuff up but never fully explore them. And what's up with the characters being so static? Ken helps Ryu throughout the Satsui no Hado saga and Ryu doesn't care now that he's homeless and disgraced? They can''t meet?
They should've put the characters on screen in the proper release order, no wonder people got confused by that.
Having people waiting months for each character, I understand. But only getting two actual SF characters in year 2? Not fond of that. It means that my wait for Elena is basically a year.

The dlc is completely mismanaged. In an age of gaming where putting out interesting dlc and updates over time can keep a game alive for a decade, SF6, which had the craziest potential, is wasting it all. Season 1 drip fed us weirdo characters and akuma. These characters (besides akuma) were implemented well, but had 0 mass appeal. Its like chemistry, why have an insane ratio of weirdos for the first season of your game? That kills hype.
Next there was only 1 extra costume given to everyone over the course of a YEAR. Absolutely ludicrous.
Now we have season 2 which is them shooting themselves in the foot. My main problem is not the character choices themselves, but the timing. Afrer season 1 aka the year of weirdos, we have 2 guest characters from a game that isnt going to bring any new fans in. And we have bison coming back already. Then Elena oddly placed in as well. Elena aka the 10th most popular third strike character. ALL of these picks would have been appreciated more at a later time when the game wasn't in DESPERATE need of core characters that are missing. Do they want to kill hype for this game? Do we need to wait 4 years for it to have a good robust cast?

I'm not going to pretend by having fake hype like most of these fanboys have. To keep it real it's very disappointing that guest characters are taking up 50% of the lineup which is just completely nonsensical and a complete waste. The lineup mostly feels very stale, unimaginative, nonsensical, uninteresting, repetitive, and corporately forced. It's completely tone deaf from what many SF fans wanted. You would think Capcom would have the common sense to know SF fans want to play SF characters in a SF game. Not some lame generic one off guest characters who aren't coming back in the future and steal spots from actual SF characters. There's still a bunch of way more interesting, popular, and heavily requested SF characters that deserve to be in the game more than most of these lame picks. Also, Nash has died completely for nothing now and SFV is pointless which is just a pathetic joke. I just feel like Capcom made mostly all of these character picks only because of sex appeal, past fame, and cheap collaboration money alone. It just feels like a very scummy inauthentic desperate move and doesn't really make sense to have most of these characters this early over clearly more deserving SF characters that fans have wanted back for years. Mostly all of these picks don't bring anything new or interesting to the game except maybe Elena. Terry is just another mostly lame generic shoto in a game where there is already too many. Basically, Ken with a different outfit. Mai is one of the least interesting and most unimaginative female characters ever in an SNK game and was only picked because of cheap sex appeal towards braindead groomers. She's just a dowgraded Chun-Li. Bison looks like the same old boring shit we've already seen too many times before only now he's got the most unimaginative nonsensical stuff like having a horse and looking like a hobo. His design looks awful too like they just threw random ideas together because they thought it would look cool. He still looks like a complete cartoonish joke of a villain and in almost every aspect looks very out of place in SF6. He's pointless in a game where there is already a much better and more interesting villain who uses psycho power in JP. Also only having 4 characters for over a year is terrible for how much Capcom is overpricing all this shit. There needs to be more than 4 because that is a dam ripoff especially for $70 when you add in the scummy battlepass shit. I wouldn't have nearly as many problems with this season if it was 6 or at minimum 5 characters and only one guest character because then the price would feel somewhat justified. All this just tells me that the games director has completely lost touch because now it looks like another complete scummy boring waste of a season. Just more of the same old shit from last season only somehow worse. Capcom is now truly creatively bankrupt. They’re just going keep nickel and diming their players so they can exploit them as much as possible. Once again glad I didn't waste my money on this game because Crapcom is clearly still alive and well. I guess i'll check back in next year to see if they’re going to do anything interesting with this game but i'm not getting my hopes up.

I still really wish that the main roster characters’ outfit 3 options weren’t locked behind fight coins, I would gladly spend 15-20 bucks for a pack to be sold on like the PlayStation, Xbox, or steam store fronts. Because the fight coins are really overpriced and you can’t buy enough to get what you really want without breaking the bank.
This is the equivalent of Smash Ultimate only having some characters as Mii costumes.

I think for what its worth, these newer fighting games dont want characters to come out trash or super busted so they fine tune them so much the release schedule is so slow. As for the dlc picks, I do understand how you feel as a big time urien main but I wouldn't want him or alex to come before a actual staple character like sakura or balrog to miss out. I think them revamping movesets alongside the slow releases is because they want to force you out your comfort zone but it sucks more if you have that 1 character you absolutely love over anyone else to play with.
That and they have to make content revolving around said characters in wt

I'm quite disappointed, I know they are stretched thin, but you're absolutely right, if you can't do something justice, just don't do it, focus on the important things. Also, I am not happy with the upcoming DLC at all, there was already hint in the World Tour that Falke has been seen in Nayshall and I cannot believe I might have to wait another 2 years before I get her, my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined. On top of that Elena ... When you can have Sakura, Karin, Kolin, Laura, Lucia, Poison, Ibuki, even Alex or pretty much any other character that people actually love, you give us Elena LMAO 🤣 I do like the game tho and don't wanna shit on the devs, but they need to do better, they have to.
Considering how she was hinted at, she may have a chance to actually be coming in the 3rd season. I would like to think that the 3rd season would be an all 3rd strike pack, but maybe they will do 2 sf5 characters and 2 sf3 characters? Idk but we will see next year

i agree lol. It's crazy to me when people say the roster and dlc are better than Mortal kombats, just cause it's cool to hate on mortal kombat this year. Mortal kombat has a more complete roster and the dlc are far better and actually giving us characters we want (excluding the abundant guest characters). But we also actually get the characters so fast that it doesnt feel dry until the next character
