Nice review. Enjoying the pace of your videos. I noticed you have an Accurist retro racer in your collection i just ordered the silver version last night.
Owning a few 34mm watches, I believe them to be the perfect size for a dress watch. I’ve had my eye on a Timex Marlin for a while but yet to find one for the right price. Similar to what you paid.
may i ask you a question about the Timex marlin? If i bought a watch strap with a quick release pin, would i be able to put it on the watch? (i know the watches strap is a snap on... are the two pins on the watch strap removable?)
I'm a woman and I have this watch I really love it . I think it is a unisex watch also on men with a small wrist it will look perfect. Is a beautiful affordable watch for everyone who likes a classic and simple design.
@@thewholecut Overall I agree with you. But It's also true that 38/40 + mm diameters are almost impossible for the majority of women to wear. Watches normally targeted for men are too big for an average female wrist.
Looked good to a novice, think it’s a poor quality representation of the original 1965 design, the only thing that looked good was the case material, the rest resembling a Mercury watch, as missing the Waterproof name on the dial. For the money paid, would have expected something resembling the original, as a few details were wrong with that Chinese SeaGull movement, that stiff crown, the dial, numerals, hands and that crystal were incorrect, wouldn’t buy one, as have an original 1965 Marlin, where your new watch was let down.
One good feature was the use of stainless steel for the case, the old watches were either chrome or gold plated which had a tendency to wear off, not in this case, still think the crystal should have been glass to make the dial gleam.
The simplicity of TIMEX watches is very refreshing in this era of overly complex GPS, digital, Bluetooth, wi-fi oriented devices. It just tells time.
Definitely! Thanks for watching!

Thank you I really appreciate it. You won't regret it it's a fantastic watch and I think Accurist have discontinued it now which is a real shame!
@@thewholecut well they've certainly dropped a lot in price H Samuel are selling them for £65 and i managed to get a 15 % discount code as well.
@@isfbuster6733 Yes I think I paid around the same price a few months ago a real bargain.

I agree. I’m sure you’ll get one for the right price in the end. Have you considered the new ones with the square numerals?
@@thewholecut I’ve seen them. A little unsure at this stage. I’ll give them some more consideration.

Definitely! I hate the labelling of watches as mens and ladies. People can wear whatever they like :)

@@liv0003 Oh yes that’s true. 36mm is the sweet spot for me I think almost anyone can wear a watch that size!
@@thewholecut 👍
Do you know where I. An buy a silver one like that. I don’t like the black letters ? Please help
You can still get them on the Timex website. If not then eBay is probably your best bet.
where can i buy this all silver mesh marlin now?? I really want it
I would stalk eBay. You can probably get one really cheaply if you’re patient.
i scoured the whole internet with no success. hopefully it turns up. would you be interested in selling?@@thewholecut
My only gripe with this watch is thr acrylic glass...
Great video, but really hard to hear you. Please fix the volume.
Thank you! Sorry about that i'll try to do better next time.
@@thewholecut No problem. Your videos rock! Thanks for supporting the budget but beautiful watch collectors
No problem. Plenty more to come!
@@thewholecut Looking forward to that.
