- This video shows you how to get every Golden Idol in Spelunky 2 without using any bombs or ropes or other items.
This only includes Golden Idols from random level generation, so not the one in 4-3 or Madame Tusk's Palace. It took quite some time to put together so thanks for watching and if you have any ideas or suggestions leave them in the comments. All of the footage and info is from version 1.17.

my friend and i found out the hard way that if you use the clone gun on an idol that you've already taken in the ice caves, it will actually spawn a second boulder when you pick up the new one lol
Also worth noting: in the dwelling variant you can push the stone blocks inward to prevent the trap from falling too far and hitting a shop or altar in its path
I always see super obvious, very helpful, tips like this in spelunky comments must be how I play, once you find something consistent to your strategy in a game like this I tend to stop even thinking it can be done any other way. Gotta experiment more...
Going for an Idol in Neo babylon is for the crazy people i believe.
Doing anything in neo babylon is crazy, its harder than sunken city
Dwelling is the only place with more then one idol.

Very polished editing, I never noticed that those blocks in the temple trap were push blocks.

I like this video in a way that unlike most Spelunky 2 tutorial video being:
“Hey do this and voila!”
But the scenario you encounter is always not the same when you try the trick🤣
"Do this! It's easy! All you need is a jet pack, kapala, 30 bombs, teleporter..."

Nice vid. Wish you showed how to get the 4-3 idol, just for fun. There are ways to get it, but not without using bombs or ropes (that I know of).

im pretty sure you can take the idol and teleport over the lava with luck and good timing without using resources

This is a very well-made video. Quick and easy, shows multiple strategies, takes everything into consideration. I love it.
The thing about the idols is that in Dwelling they're great and usually easy to get. In World 2 it's a little risky since you need decent movement to get the one in Jungle and insurance that you can get to the exit in Volcana. Past that though the Idol just has no use, you have way too much money by the time you're in Temple or Tide Pool so you just don't need it. And the one in Ice Caves is just way too risky while the one in Neo Babylon is just a time drain on the most chaotic World aside from Cosmic Ocean.

Good video! I don't mean to sound nitpicky but one good piece of advice that I feel shoulda been included is that you should watch out for the crushing blocks in the volcana trap, I've had a couple runs where one's fallen on me as I ran away with the idol cuz I didn't notice it lol

One more strat for the bone wall one: I climb on one bone wall and throw an object on the top of the other bone wall and any skulls that come out will bounce outward.

Check what's IN the lava traps above you. Sometimes those blocks holding the lava can be replaced with Push Blocks, which will inevitably fall onto your head.

With the Volcana traps it pretty common for a push block to spawn in a way so that it will crush you when you run away so be aware of them.

For the 3rd Dwelling variant, you can throw a skull at a bone block to make an easy exit

I believe that if in the ice caves, if you get the idol to the door before the boulder spawns, it will cancel out and the boulder won't spawn. Did this on accident one time, but might have been a bug.

If there is a movable block in the volvana trap, it can (will) fall and instantly kill if you run straight out

You forgot about the push blocks in volcana who will crush you
You forgot the idol in 4-3, you can actually save it by just doing anhk skip and holding on to it, it's obviously not intentional but you still missed it :)
Also mistake me if I'm wrong but is there another idol in the 4-2 cave in the water? Ik there's a clam there but I can't remember if an idol sits on top of it. You also forgot about the idol in 6-3 that sits in madame tusk palace of pleasure. Aside from all that the editing is funny so 8/10 vid

By 2-3 you mean 4-3 (Tide Pools), by 2-2 you mean 4-2 (Tide Pools) which is just the same clam one, and 5-3 you mean 6-3. Just gotta say this because I read this and I was so confused for a second.
Ankh skips and tusk quest probably deserve their own video :)

this suggests that the idol in the third level of the tide pool is litterally impossible to get, it could have atleast been mentioned, otherwise very good

Is there a good reason to pick up the idol after dwelling? Doesn't seem worth it for how little gold you get from it.
You get $5000 * Level Number e.g. the one in Neo Babylon (6) is worth $30000
I don't really find any reasons to get idols past dwelling in my runs, tbh

I think the jungle idol trap is the easiest to do besides world 1 ones
I never understood how people play with the joystick. I use a ps4 controller and use the pads to move.
The d-pad is more precise but muscle memory makes me use the joystick :/

Looks like the clams have changed. I have died several times not in the middle on the clam.
If you stand even slightly on the middle block it snaps even if you are mostly at the side
