You know Jared Goff, Rex Grossman etc all went to superbowls? List goes on and on with mediocre QBs who have been to a SB. Jimmy is cleary a mediocre QB, if you understand football you’d know that. I definitely want him to do well though but I’m not expecting much from him. He’ll continue to hold back Samuel, Aiyuk and will be a liability.

Obviously that was fun to watch but we all need to temper our expectations based on who we were playing (Raiders), who they had on the field ( 2's and 3's) and the fact that wasn't game planned for. All that being said IT WAS AWESOME!

Give teams something to think about AND work on the basics and a one QB system first (which will no doubt remain the core) then work on the practicality of the substitution without making a big deal of it.... I think it keeps it from being a big either-or thing... From here they could basically shelve it (maybe play Lance a couple plays in the first 4 games or whatever) or they could role it out.... or go back and forth!... Not every locker room could do this.... but it seems like they can and, given that, i think its a great, daring, solution to the awkwardness of the competing truths of "this is Trey's team AFTER this year and he needs to develop" AND "Jimmy is a part of ths team and has been the one guy to win with this team under Shanahan" .... whether or not they do much of this going forward I think this sets a great tone of mutuality and ACTUALLY DIFFUSES some of the QB competition.... Both guys will compete of course but it sets the idea that there is not just one job to win... Jimmy is the starter, but they are both active players.... reminds me of how Shanahan uses running backs.... Also kinda reminds me of the giants approach this year, which has been awesome! Super kudos to Jimmy for working with it though! overall i think its not traditional but its smart.
