That's a great question. I have only used the fine line black and am not sure what they used as a thinner in it. I google search and this is what I found out : It's Alcohol based acrylic in my experience. People saying it's close to Acrylic don't seem to understand that acrylic comes in lacquer, alcohol and many other forms other than just water. Gundam markers are are alcohol based with the exception of GM20/GM21 and the Real Touch which are water based.
