We didn’t have cell phones or the internet to distract us from just living. I was just concerned about myself and my family.

His ego was in the process of tearing his band apart. He was a one trick pony that was never going to evolve and you could see that in the bands later albums.His refusal to collaborate with his band mates in any part of the writing process literally sealed the bands fate, another example of his ego. So fuck romanticising the man, he was, what he was.

He would only be a musical inspiration. Anyone looking for any public figure to be more than that will almost always be disappointed. Also, except for the morons in Holywood, or a few in sports like James, most don't want to be idolized or thought of to be more than their talents.
