I'm addicted to watching people react to this song for the first time. The start is especially entertaining as you can see people think, oh this sounds a bit funky and then BOOM BOOM. Amazing song.
Yeah I agree I love watching people’s first time reaction to this banger, looking forward to the new album
Muse is one of those bands that can do whatever the hell they want and it will still sound good, and unmistakably sound like Muse. You'll get a lot of suggestions, but my advice is just to not underestimate their softer albums (especially The 2nd Law). There are some real gems in there, and adding electronic/pop elements to their style doesn't make it bad.
Being a classical fan on top of a metal fan, The 2nd Law is my favourite album
Muse have always been stupendous live but this song will be unbelievable.
People are talking about this being a return to old Muse under almost every reaction video. Yes they have heavier songs in their back catalogue, screams and distortion etc, but this isn't just rehashing old styles, in terms of style/feel/structurally in the heavy sections this is the most conventionally "metal", or "metalcore" in particular, release I've heard from Muse.
Muse is back baby!! And their saying the album only gets heavier!!
Butterflies and Hurricanes is my fave Muse song too. just amazing.
Lyrics totally of this time......Video, totally of this time.....Music, whooh
Knights of Cydonia, Reapers, Butterlies & Hurricanes...LIVE!!!
Definitely a return to form (for me, anyway). This is the Muse I know and love, powered by Chris Wolstenholme's thundering bass. They lost me at The Resistance. If you want to try the good Muse albums, start with Origin Of Symmetry, then it's on to Black Holes and Revelations, and Absolution.
The Dubstep-ish intro reminds me of Lindsay Stirling. A collaboration with Muse would be DIVINE. 🔥🤘
And that's not me in the wheelchair. 😜
That's snare & kick like architects and guitar riff so distortion and then i don't expected muse song so heavy and have a breakdown and scream but i love yeah so far 🤘🔥
To be fair, Architects were probably inspired by them.
SUBSCRIBED ❤ i love this woman ❤❤
Hi I was at the Muse concert in Paris Stade de France 🤯
Love your reaction ❤️🔥
Interpretation; it seems most folk completely miss the relevance behind the lyrics. The track has another title; 'Living Vicariously', & may be better described by a phrase from the song itself; 'Psychological Warfare'. It's about a world-wide psychological warfare between a few old men (old dude in a wheel chair) & the mindless masses (represented by those under his control). So the one singing the words is standing firm - outside the visuals - getting stronger by refusing to 'stand down', which is what he would be doing by joining the system of manipulation by the slave-master over the masses of slave pawns. An outstanding song with incredibly intelligent lyrics by a most relevant band.
Drones album is really good, it was the element of a genre that you know that they were going back to heavy.
Listened to showbiz, origin of Symmetry, absolution and then muse after that was not my thing at all..
This really surprised me. Hopefully they continue in this vein. Love it.
