    I just finish the first one even if it encroaches the adjacent space then adjust with soflex discs until the contour is correct then do the next one.
    Other options seem to be overly complicated.

      sometimes that can work for sure! other times it's a nightmare in my hands. Thanks for the comment and contribution!

    Hi, Dr.. Its a very helpful webminar! Do you mind to share a little more about the liquid dam trick? I have tried to use liquid dam to stabilize the band (put on the buccal and lingual side together with the band) but I had this problem with the liquid dam it's not strong enough to hold the band, the band eventually will open up itself. Any tips to counteract this problem?

      @protrusive  Рік тому

      Hi Doc! Yes I understand this issue - has happened to me. in such cases - you either need a larger/heavier volume of liquid dam (and ensure it cures properly) to prevent the matrix springing back - or the flex is too much for the band and perhaps consideration needs to. be given to using a ring or a band like greater curve (circumferential)

    I find difficulty achieving a tight contact especially after wedging between the last two teeth of the quadrant. has the last tooth moved distally ???

    • @protrusive
      @protrusive  6 місяців тому

      yes it can be tricky - must use our skills to get as tight as possible - then also be aware of off-axis occlusal contacts causing a distalising force to the last molar

    Can anyone please explain what a wedge test is?

    • @protrusive
      @protrusive  2 роки тому

      Hi David! Wedge Test: after you have prepared your cavity, you now 'rehearse' a wedge. You place the wedge you think will be the best size - you then check to see if you have a seal, AND that the active part of the wedge is BELOW the base of the cavity, AND check that the wedge does not significantly distort you matrix. If it does not satisfy these, then you should try a different wedge or modify (cut, add ptfe etc) to the existing wedge. Hope that helps!

    Hello jazz !! I wanted to know if we have to place a clamp on upper 7 & bow of the clamp is hindering with ZYGOMATIC BONE on buccal side ,so it's difficult to put dam sheet over the clamp while doing class2s ,so which clamp can we use if in some patients clamp bow is hindering with ZYGOMATIC BONE on buccal side , which won't allow slipping of dam sheets over clamp 🙏

    • @protrusive
      @protrusive  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Nishant - are you sure you mean Zygomatic? Perhaps you mean the coronoid process of the mandible?

    • @ankursnd
      @ankursnd 2 роки тому +2

      Please consider using wingless clamp for tight spaces or maybe avoiding dam placement sometimes.

    • @protrusive
      @protrusive  2 роки тому

      Nishant I will assume you mean the coronoid/mandible is getting in the way
      Trick is the get the patient to excurse their mandible towards the isolating side - that will free up space to allow the rubber dam to slip - the patient may need to hold their jaw partially to that side to prevent the coronoid dislodging the clamp. Wingless will help as per Ankur below but it's often the HEAD of the champ that gets in the way - there is also a clamp called Hallerklammer which can be useful in these scenarios
