Please don't write misleading titles for the sake of views.🙏 I don't know why Sir is criticizing Cardiovascular surgery but these kind of remarks can have a really bad impact on the people suffering from Cardiac disease. Respectfully, I would like to clarify some points-
    - Every patient don't need a CABG(bypass graft).. CABG is done in cases when more than 1 vessel supplying the heart is blocked.
    - The site from where the vessel graft is taken usually do not have any effect, because collateral vessels are formed in that area which takes care of the blood supply there.
-Doctors CAN know the Percentage of BLOCK in Coronary artery by Angiography..but as rightly said by sir..they cannot predict the time when it will get completely blocked and will cause heart attack.(But the rough estimate they give is based on the research and their experience)
-NOW COMING TO MOST CONTROVERSIAL PART. - In India with such humongous patient load, patients do not prefer to follow up and come again to doctor..So if a patient has more than 60-70% block then it's better to Take some action in form of medicines, PCI (STENT PLACEMENT) or CABG based on the patient's condition to prevent future Heart attacks. (Along with lifestyle modification which usually patients do not stick to). If these measures are not taken at that time(Surgery or PCI is not done in such patients) they usually come with a severe heart attack which can cause severe morbidity and mostly death in such cases.
If a patient watches this kind of video..they will hesitate to go to a doctor which can lead to disastrous outcomes.
I request people with great influence in healthcare to choose their words cautiously as it can cause huge impact on the population🙏🙏

While i am seeing that there are comments in favour of the Doctor (speaker) n also some comments opposing him one thing is damn sure in our country in corporate hospitals DOCTORS do have TARGETS n are forced to order for unnecessary tests n treatments much against their wish.. Recently we came across an article wherein an American Cancer Specialist forced many patients to go for Cancer Treatment including Chemotherapy and heis being tried now n the Doctor has Confessed having done that. So Ethics part more or less is gone now n Greed has crept in. We have to be very very careful cant totally rely on these Fellows. What happened during Corona pandemic time have not these Doctors looted mercilessly. I have seen Doctors staight away refusing to treat if they are not having Cash in hand. Your Health Cards other cards etc carried no value at that time. Thank you Mr Gaurav Thakur.

I underwent bypass and artic valve replacement surgery , total cost about 9 L.my health is good after that. Surgeon fee is 3L, in which GST 18% and , may be 30% IT govt looted 48% without any contribution so surgeon gets only 1.7L. My total bill was taxed at 18% to 36 GST so I paid about 2L GST. So govt looted about 3 L without any contribution. 😢 the govt must not tax medical, they must regulate legally cost and quality so that tax payers benifit.

If 0-10 percent may take 10 years, but 70-80 will take only 3 years as circumference of the blood vessel has already reduced. For 90-100 may take only afew months as the cross section of the blood vessel has drastically reduced. Logic explained by the doctor regarding blockage is not right mathematically.

Instead of pouring money into surgery, take care of your body properly.
Maintain your ideal body weight with good diet and exercise.
Spend 20 or 30 thousand and buy a Fitbit or something to monitor your exercise, sleep, heart rate etc.. Not only you will be monitoring your health, you will be encouraged to improve your life style.
You can set targets for lower resting heart rate, higher heart rate variability etc.
Take a full blood test once in six months to monitor your lipids, kidney function, thyroid, and insulin resistance - HOMA -IR or preferably Triglyceride - Glucose- BMI index.
You can buy stuff to monitor your bp and blood glucose at home. They are inexpensive.

Should we take this message from this whole discussion... ?
And when the patient reaches almost at the verge of heart attack, then he should run for the hospital and hope that he gets time slot for a lifesaving emergency bypass surgery... right... ?

Not all doctors in this world are here to do business there are 2 extremes some doctors are really doing commendable work following ethics and showing what real excellence in medical science means
The reason is that only persons having good business comes on top because this world only judges people based on their wealth not on their credibility ot contribution. Actually the person making great contributions to society are not famous on social media they jus do their work not taking any credit.

I attended one of Dr. Chhajer's program on Heart Attack in Kolkata, explaining the nitty-gritty of causes of Cardiac Surgery. He stressed upon Heath Care Management through changing Life Style.
It's equally true to avail of Medical Treatments like Cardiac ailments as best options from Renowned Government Hospital as neither Doctors nor Government Hospitals do have any Business Budgetary Targets. Doctors & Hospitals are Patients Centric; not Promoters Centric. Corporate or Private Hospitals simply rent out Decorated Doctor's Chamber with Annual Business Budgets that make them succumbed to compulsive pressures to achieve Business Budgets earmarked by Promoters of Corporate or Private Hospitals.
Corporate or Private Hospitals tend to become Business Units as Profit Making Units; not Loss Making Units. So Dictors are burdened with Business Budgetary Targets to each Doctor for survival of Business Units, unlike Government Hospital.

My advise to these type video makers please donot project all heart surgery and heart attack as a scam. Please note there are patient who are serious and needs urgent surgery they will ignore the doctors advise for operation after watching your video. Whether you will take responsibility for all patient .If you have detail facts better file a complaint with police or IMA or health ministry or file writ before high court with your details.
We have good doctors committed to their patient. I am a heart patient under went by pass and I never faced any such scam as mentioned in this video.

Please avoid such podcast. Highly misleading. I’m myself a cardiac surgeon. Rarely any surgeon will tell it’s an emergency to operate . There are certain conditions where it’s explained as an emergency. Most(90%) of the cardiac surgeries are elective. Sometimes patient ask can you guarantee us that we want to go home and come back after few days. How the hell in the world someone can GUARANTEE the future. It’s upto the patient to decide what they want not on doctor. We can advise them the available options and the need and risks. No doubt few centres are involved in unethical practices. But to generalise it is a very devastating trend.
Can a lawyer guarantee that he’ll win case?? Each case one person wins and the other looses. What’s their liability? Then they must be penalised for loosing the case. !!

There are two reasons for a bypass. Save a life or improve quality of life like less chest pain or improve walking capabilities etc. Doctors are only communicating what they learn from scientific studies. Doctors can not have any opinion of their own or can say like I know this from my 40 years of practicing experience. Please publish your opinion in scientific papers after doing protocol based studies and get peer reviewed etc. Follow the science you have learned from and calling yourselves doctors.

This interview is disrespecting the cardiac surgeons, whose dedication and hard work is impossible to explain. Most difficult work among all branches is done by cardiac surgeons. Never criticize them without a reason . Don't try to attract innocent viewers by comments like you are doing. Patients are sent to the cardiac surgeons for by pass. They cannot go out in search of patients as they are always doing surgery.

We must look for why such things are happening in the pious profession like medicine. I feel, firstly the medical education must be made cost effective . Secondly, there should be a cap on the pay and perks of the doctors particularly the senior ones , like in any any govt service . The accounts of the hospitals must be throughly checked . Any cash transaction as hospital charges and cost of medicines must be online only . Private hospitals must not be allowed to operate multiple accounts . All hospital charges must be controlled by realistically worked out by an independent body like CAG . Without controlling the overhead charges in running a hospital this deadly malpractice in medical profession can not be controlled and eradicated.

This is a very bad misrepresentation of the facts.
No one is suggesting a bypass surgery at 30-40% blockage - why? Because the risk of a heart attack is far lower than the risks of undergoing surgery.
But at 80-90% block, the risk of having a heart attack is very high compared to the risk of surgery.
The misrepresentation of the facts is this: at 70% and above blockage, it doesn't necessarily slowly go from 70 to 71, 72 etc. The risk is high because a sudden clot formed in that area can rapidly make the 70% block from cholesterol into a 100% block from cholesterol + blood clot.
A higher risk doesn't mean that it will happen in the next 2 minutes for everyone, but it does mean that majority of such patients are likely to have a heart attack within the next month. The consequences of a heart attack can be devastating. If you are lucky, you will get treatment before anything serious happens or you will die. If you are unlucky, you could land up with a stroke and significant brain injury, damage to kidneys, rupture of the heart muscle and the cost of treatment goes up significantly. The chance of success of treatment goes down significantly.
Most cardiologists and cardiac Surgeons in proper set ups actually counsel patients realistically. Today very rarely is someone rushed into having a bypass surgery. Patient often needs proper optimization before they can be safely operated on.
A lot of what this "doctor" is saying is biased with no supporting evidence. Decisions made by doctors today are not based on arbitrary factors. There are well researched evidence to support clinical decision making. Doctors are also concerned because if they take an unwarranted decision, they will lose litigation in the courts and have to face significant consequences.
If these doctors words were to be challenged in court with evidence refuting his claims of malpractice by doctors, he would have a hard time defending himself against charges of defamation and malicious intent.

You are asking an MD Physiology doctor about heart surgery. This person has never seen an OPD leave aside a Cardiac OT and you ask him about heart surgery. He says bypass grafts get blocked in 5 years, and I say the patients who have critical blockages he tell not to get operated die within a year or develop end stage heart failure. How irresponsible social media influencers have become that all that matters to them is just cringe and fake content which may come from a popular self proclaimed cardiologist like Bimal Chajjer. Ask him to present his qualifications before posting such content and stop playing with the lives of millions of people who need coronary intervention. Collaterals are very small vessels that provide blood supply to the muscles of the heart affected by blockage in coronary arteries. These collaterals come from vessels which are not blocked or have very less disease, so what happens when all the 3 vessels are blocked. Where will the collateral come from? This chap is a fraud, Rah Shamani gathered views by endorsing him and you aren’t any different. Stop this nonsense please.

Other side of coin is, if doctor says you can do it after a month and something happens before that, will you consider that doctor ok? Will you not ask that doctor a single question? And if it is not predictable that precisely any doctor will play safe and in favour of saving the life. Forget money part, that's a different debate.
And I am not a doctor,I am an engineer and thinking completely from engineering POV.
