Astonishing sand dunes! The camel rides look like lots of fun.
Never seen anything like it before. The sand dunes were so vast - stunning place
Binge watched all your videos in 3 days! Waiting for more!
Oh wow! You must be sick of my face haha. Thank you so much for the support, it all helps to keep me motivated to get out, travel and video!
Why would anyone dislike a beautiful scenery Vlog?
Very high quality of shooting and editing. Thank you so much. This is my first time watch
Mogao Grottoes video.
Wow, your channel deserves way more subscribers!
Thanks! Please feel free to give the videos a share! Glad you enjoy them :D
Enjoy the Gansu series very much, especially this video. Traveling in China is like travel around the world, but you're still in same country.
Oh im glad you have enjoyed the videos. This province is pretty special, everyone should do this trip!
Wow, such beautiful sceneries, spectacular!
Breathtaking scene!
Still remember back to 2010 it took me over 20 hours to travel from Xi'an to Dunhuang by train. Studying in London for several years, fast train has reached Dunhuang and Xinjiang. China is changing so fast.
The high speed train definitely good moving for China
It's a life changer. When i first came to China i think there was only a highspeed train near Beijing, and the old trains in China were notoriously slow. Different world now - so much easier to get around
It's. Amazing how green Gansu. Now is... China's doujbg a fab job in the. Ruins n desert... Thnx for the singing... Magical place. ' be nice to see what kind of food they out there too.
Yeh, there are some amazing things going on out there. It has become a very wealthy part of China now - Renewable energy all the way!
I like your style of travel, absorbing culture and history along the way 👍
Another great video! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it Gary! Thanks for all your comments, the Gansu videos are almost done now - only 1 left. Then...on to new things and new places!
Dunhuang (and Mogao grottoes) is an incredible place full of art and culture, not only for china but for the whole world. thanks for sharing, great channel+1.
Thanks for the videos. I enjoy watching them as if I am on the journey with you. These areas are so desolate that life must be harsh here. I give my best regards to the people who live here for thousands of years. Cheers from San Diego, CA.
I'm really happy you like them. As desolate as this may seem...it's nothing compared to the location of the next (and final) Gansu video. I'll upload it tomorrow
Thanks for covering this particular part of China. As a Chinese born and raised in the eastern province of Jiangsu I've never been any further west than Baotou(Inner Mongolia). Awesome video!
you are very welcome! Yeh, China is so vast - Dunhuang is a world away from the east coast!
Amazing ! Olden days using camels, now bullet train ! Really nice to see how's is it in this part of the world. Thanks so much for the video.
You're very welcome. It is an amazing part of the world. I hope i will go back sometime...but so many place to visit...so little time
Interestingly most parts of your trip coincide the exact same spots that I planned to visit this year in April. After watching your videos I think I will have to do it as soon as I can :)!
It's a good journey, i would definitely recommend travelling southern Gansu too - i think the difference in climate, landscape and culture between the south and the north is what made the trip really special
China is so big with diversities in landscape and climate, tks for sharing.
You are welcome! Yeh, Gansu in particular is very diverse, amazing place
Dunhuang is on my bucket list. Thanks for sharing. I'm subscribed to your channel.
Nice video. The wooden structure of the pagoda are still standing nicely 👍🏻
Have been to the place when I was 20 years old. When I was travelling there, I had the nostalgic feeling even at that young age. Don't know why.
Steeped in history....it's in such an amazing setting, i loved it there.
It's mind blowing, what topography, what variations, loved to see the place
Beautiful place!
Such a beguiling landscape
😄1st!great works!
Really Nice travel video!
Useful❤️
i went to those same sites back in August, and the Mogao Grottoes are most impressive. Hope i could go there again and see more of those some other time~
Thank you for documenting your trip to Gansu. I visited these places a few years ago as part of my trip in the silk road, and your videos really remind me of my wonderful trip! I only wish I am as good as you on documenting my own trip. Amazing you are filming all these by yourself!
It is a fascinating part of the country! You must have had a great time too!
looks so raw and beautiful
@@nickinchina2552 pretty much the same landscap here in Ningxia, all the cities are build by “”“Helanshan”
Cool
Breathtaking, thanks. Is it a trip you did recently? I see the upload date Oct, 4. People are not wearing masks except very few. No corona virus problems?
Yeh, i travelled in Gansu throughout September. There haven't been any domestic spread cases in Gansu since March - so most people aren't wearing masks any more.
They also had better internet in there than I do at home!!
I just came across your channel and enjoyed your presentation .. subscribed..thanks for showing us so many parts of China..I have not been to China...watching from Malaysia
What an amazing day you’ve had. Enjoy your last day. M
Actually i have been back in Xi'an a while now, just editing footage from August. The last day was pretty special, but a bit history geeky haha. I'll upload it tomorrow :)
NICK I just comeback from Dunhuang today ,really nice place but with tooooooo many people…
Great video! What are the orange shoe things people are wearing in the desert? I guess it's something that goes over their footwear?
Yeh, to protect your shoes i guess. i didn't bother with them...it's only sand 😂
I really interested in Ant forest, not sure if they plant trees in Gansu, hope someone can do a series of ant forest
Gansu is one of the places the plant trees for the Ant Forest. And...thanks for the video idea, it is an amazing scheme, i'll see what i can do!
amazing!!!
Would have been better without so many tourists lol
Thank for making these videos! I am planning to visit soon and was wondering if you went with a tour group or just went by yourself? If you went with a group where did you find trustworthy groups?
I went by myself, more fun that way...freedom to go where you want when you want
Finally over 3000! R u sure YT didn't do anything with ur channel?
Less people back in 1988 for sure.Same amount of sand in the shoes though. If you like buddhist caves don't miss Ajanta in India.
I'm quite envious of you visiting in 88. I can't imagine what it must have been like!
8:45 -- this guy is either from Taiwan or southeast Asia. He singing in the Min-nan dialect.
I’m in China as well and I’m planning on going there soon.. I’ve noticed it’s a bit difficult to travel there? Did the security give you any problems when entering the province?
travelling between provinces is fine - just requires QR code scans, sometimes you might get taken aside and asked about last entry to the country and stuff - but nothing to bad
Great video! Where did you stay in Dunhuang? How did you get around? I don’t speak mandarin though but want to visit Gansu
There are lots of hotel options. I'd recommend using the Trip.com app for hotel booking - every hotel on that app accepts foreigners. If you don't speak mandarin, maybe a translation app will help. The Mogao grottoes will put you with an English speaking guide though, which is nice! Gansu is amazing!
@@nickinchina2552 great! I’m planning to use high speed trains around China. How do I book a train ticket and how much advance? Could you shed some light on this
The trip.com app is the easiest way. It is the English version of Ctrip so...its all in English and if you need it, their customer service is all in English too. You can use it for booking trains, hotels, everything - super useful. If you can read some Chinese the 12306 app is the official train app in China, so it doesn't have he service charges that Trip.com has. Normally, i book a train the day before i go somewhere - the train service is excellent in China. The only exception is during public holidays when booking tickets is almost impossible
@@nickinchina2552 thanks for the input. Any recommendations for a local sim card? I’ll be travelling about 4-6wks. Let me know any other useful app’s especially VPN, navigation etc.
Hi, at the entrance of the dunes they put music...do you know the name of the singer? I'm looking for that song
27/07/21 and again
How did you enter China with the Covid restrictions?? :O
I was already here on a work visa. Still not possible to enter on tourist visas i think
Now you see how diverse of China?
It's a big country so it is of course diverse, the thing that i found amazing is how diverse Gansu is! Amazing to have such a change in climate, landscape and culture within one province!
Do you have plans to visit other parts of China soon? Really enjoyed your videos.
@@inaction2024 Lots of plans! Over the next couple of months i will do a few trips to places around Shaanxi Province (i'm back at work now so can't take a long trip like i did for Gansu) In Winter i am planning a Yunnan/Guizhou/Hunan trip! Should be good. I'm really happy you are enjoying the videos - i really want to show places that people don't often visit - luckily (except for Xi'an) Shaanxi province is full of places no one ever visits haha
@@inaction2024 Both great places! I'll see how it goes - time is always the issue, but i should have 2 months of solid travel in winter, will be able to see a lot i think!
中国的飞天梦。
The area and Xinjiang used to be Buddhist area, but during Islamization in 14th century, the Buddhist culture were completely wiped out by Islamists.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful adventures.
You are welcome, thanks for watching. Only one more video in this series :(
