  • Yesterday we fabricated motor mounts out of some scrap metal. Today we're going to level up the engine to where we want it mounted then we'll add the bushings to the mounts then fabricate the pieces that weld to the frame. The frame, suspension, rear end, brakes etc will ALL be upgraded to accommodate the engine. BONUS EPISODE: • The engine is mounted.... 🙌

This would really look good as a gasser straight axel in the front with leaf springs lower the back down so the tyres meet the guards in the rear you have those nicely built rear guards to suit the tyres to go underneath them it would look so good without that massive gap between the rear guards and the tyres either way awesome work it’s looking good

This build really shows Chad's coomitment to his dream car and Nate ability to design and engineer on the fly. Working with high hp engines in boats I would borrow from ther engine mounting practices...fabricate some mounts from bell housing to frame and additionly mounts on front of engine off the timing cover area

What a job you, Nate, Doug and of course Joelene are doing. Yesterday you used the word behemoth to describe the engine. It certainly is. Motor mounts for this thing are critical which I know you are aware of. It looks great setting in the car like it was made for the hotrod this will become. A real beauty and worth every dime you put into it. Take your time with this once in a lifetime dream and enjoy it.

So, the one side will want to lift and the other side will want to try to twist down. You could always put safety chains or belts on it as a precaution. Nate great work as usual, I wonder if their is anything automotive that you can't build? Jolene fantastic work as always, you guys really make a great team!

You can separate the wishbone tailing arms and make brackets so they attach to the outer frame rails. Or better yet incorporate them in to the the transmission mount cross member with bushings. Having them split on each side of the transmission will provide a little more diagonal support as well as keeping the front and rear axles square to each other.. Be mindful of where you are going to run your headers and exhaust pipes.. Cheers!!

If the angle is real far off, which I’m afraid it’s going to be, you can use a constant velocity type driveshaft like Lincolns and Cadillacs used back in the 70s to limit the vibration, but I don’t know how they would hold up to drag racing! I’m hoping this will just be a novelty car to take to cruises and shows and not the strip! It’s too cool to ruin ,And it is turning out great!
