this song honestly makes me have all good vibes. it's the type of song where as soon as it would come on in the car it would be turned up the whole way and you and all of your friends would be screaming all of the lyrics while realizing that life is going to be just fine.
I started listening to blink around 1997. I still will play a blink album in my car every month or so. And I've tried for years to figure out what makes them so great, but it's hard to do. People might say oh they were funny, or oh they mixed music and lifestyle, which is true, but they were more than that. Besides Travis barker's drumming, they aren't very good musicians from a technical standpoint. Tom's voice irritates many people. And their type of jokes they say seem so jr high school....BUT...if I had to break it down I would have to say it's their spirit. What they captured in the late nineties (and continue to do) was what many suburban youth were feeling: that they didn't belong. No direction. No chance with keeping a relationship. No ability to keep friends forever. No stable parents to look up to. No hope. And something about having them hit all of these major themes so well lyrically, and melodically, just gave us something to grab on to and cheer on. For once, blink got kids with no direction excited about life. And when you go back and revisit these albums, they still take you back to that earlier time in your life and make you appreciate what they were and what they represented. In many ways Blink is therapy. They're the best friends you never had, that you could always rely on. Their the champions of the sport-less. The parents of the latchkey. The older sibling who had been there, done that. And as you get older, you might put them away for a while, you might go to college, get a job, get married, and you finally listen after years and then you realize listening to blink doesn't change. You feel the same way now about it as you did when you first heard them. They embody eternal youth. So grab some albums and dive on in buddy. Credit to /u/Lee7890

I agree with you i was born in 2010 but i was raised with 1980s-1990s music i just hate society nowdays with all the lgbtq protests and russia trying to take over ukraine i would of loved to grow up in the 1980s, i would be so happy
everyone misses these days so how come people don't remake the stuff popular? advertise guitar hero, put it on shelves, start making music like this again, bring back old shows, fashions etc. everyone says the early 2000s were so much better so we should just abandon the shitty media now, and get back to basics. tbh Id be so much happier without seeing emojis and poop shaped pillows with faces on them every store I go to.
I'm 14 and I've known the lyrics to this song and all of Blink-182 etc songs my whole life. Mainly because of my family, they love this type of music and my sister used to go to Warped Tour... I was born in the wrong decade :/
***** i would just like to point out that this isnt the greatest place to point out the faults of this in my opinion good song, and also why were you on this video if you think the music is trash?
Childhood in a band. The 90's was the greatest time to have been a child in history I am almost confident in saying that, I could be wrong but man there was a magic in the air in punk rock if you consider this genre punk and many other bands like them. Green day, Nirvana, Sum 41, I mean countless great bands that I will not try to name them all. Also the T.V Malcolm in the Middle, the former Cartoon Network. It was great what they all had in common was, They were rebelling against conformity, against a boring life, against seeing life through tired eyes. If you want to see life as it truly is, New and mysterious. Google *_Truth contest_* and click the first link. The truth of life gives you your innocence and sense of adventure back.
Actually being born in the 80s would've been the best time to be a kid because then you could actually listen to the mhsic instead of the last 2 songs before the 21st century took over
Reread your comment, id say that the best time to be alive was in the 70s, and from there move gradually towards the 90s, so much great music in one lifetime
Nicholas Serrano I disagree, but not from an entertainment perspective. Living in the 70s and 80s might be great music-wise, but the actual time period was a disaster. The tail-end of Vietnam, the Cold War heating back up again, absolute economic disaster, the AIDS crisis, a massive crime wave, political infighting turned up to 10. The 90s most of that, minus maybe the political infighting. The 90s was a time of economic prosperity, relative world peace, crime fell significantly towards the end, the Soviet Union was gone and the Russians weren't a problem yet, etc, etc. The 90s were great. Now in the 00s/10s, we've got the War on Terror, Eurozone Crisis, Wall Street crashing, surveillance state, new cold war, and perhaps the most unstable situation the Middle East has been in since the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. Things got shit again.
MegaMosh101 I mainly meant being born in the 70s/80s, because youd end up growing up throughout all of that instad of being age 1 during 1999, see what I mean, and thanks for telling me the bad things that were going on then, ill have to do some research on it, and could you elaborate how the cold war was starting up again? Whatd we do? Throw a rock into their airspace?
Nicholas Serrano After the 1950s (The Second Red Scare) the Cold War kind of settled into normality. There was the Cuban Missile Crisis, and then things sort of calmed down for about a decade and a half. America was worried about Vietnam, the Soviets were worried about China, Nixon was pursuing detente. It wasn't until the early 1980s, when Reagan came to power, that the Cold War heated back up again, with mobilizations on both sides of the Iron Curtain and several "near-miss" scenarios that hadn't really been seen since the Sixties. Then of course the Soviet Union collapsed, and the rest is history.
Okay, can you guys stop bashing on this generation? I am 16 years old and listen to a variety of music from One Direction and 5 Seconds Of Summer to The Rolling Stones, Beatles, Green Day, The Killers, Blink 182, etc. So, please: Just enjoy the music.
Oh, that's real mature. I am now 18 - this is a comment from a year ago, yet I still stand by my words. Are you a toddler just learning how to type on his first computer? Sorry that I offended you.
Do you think I actually care what you think? You're a coward hiding behind a computer screen. I listen to Broadway music for goodness sake. I listen to rock and roll, I listen to country, I listen to acoustics. And do you really think that YOU, an anonymous coward, is going to effect my music choices? Dream on. Have a wonderful day, and I'll enjoy my taste in music while you enjoy yours. Deal?
Eric Coldfire that's not true im thirteen I listen to every thing from the 1960s to 2009 example Beatles smash mouth, green day, bowling for soup, insane clown posse , papa roach ,3 doors down, god smack etc. and I hate dubstep and I know many other people my age who do too

A true pop-punk masterpiece. Adding Travis to the band allowed three very talented musicians to take their music to a greater place.

I agree with you i was born in 2010 but i was raised with 1980s-1990s music i just hate society nowdays with all the lgbtq protests and russia trying to take over ukraine i would of loved to grow up in the 1980s, i would be so happy
Born in 2012, still a kid, loves being a kid in the 2020’s

The best skate music
I grew up in the 70s and 80s and from my point of view that was the greatest music, had the most meaning, and you felt it in your soul!
90s and early 00s were the end of it
everyone misses these days so how come people don't remake the stuff popular? advertise guitar hero, put it on shelves, start making music like this again, bring back old shows, fashions etc. everyone says the early 2000s were so much better so we should just abandon the shitty media now, and get back to basics. tbh Id be so much happier without seeing emojis and poop shaped pillows with faces on them every store I go to.
fucking just end it dude
Oh how I wish this was possible
everything comes to an end the 80s and 90s were the best times in the world. I hate today's pop culture
The late 2000s surely had a golden age in teen movies and music.
lol same
I was born in 2007, never heard the song (that I remember), yet I remember the whole thing.
Same but I was 2006
I could've sworn it was in an episode of scooby doo but I can't find it anywhere? Idk where else I would've heard it (born in 2005 btw)
omg wtf i remember when i was the youngest generation on the internet i’m 2005 lmao

Meeeee
I'm 14 and I've known the lyrics to this song and all of Blink-182 etc songs my whole life. Mainly because of my family, they love this type of music and my sister used to go to Warped Tour... I was born in the wrong decade :/

What happened to music like this?
It all went to Angels and Airwaves. Tom DeLonge is the lead singer of that band now, btw. It's the alternative rock band of 2013-2014 and beyond.
***** i would just like to point out that this isnt the greatest place to point out the faults of this in my opinion good song, and also why were you on this video if you think the music is trash?
the music industry sucks a lil rite now
Justin Bieber happened
One Direction was soon to follow

It's sad how we don't get songs like this anymore :(

funnily enough that's the only part of the song that isn't inane randomness
Everybody also knows the "carry me home" part. It's such an earworm
Don't forget work sucks I know
Great song, one of my favourite song of my childhood
Spongebob rocking it
Childhood in a band.
LETS GO AVS
Colorado Avalanche Are Stanley Cup Champions!!!
Amo esta canción ❤️
Okay, can you guys stop bashing on this generation? I am 16 years old and listen to a variety of music from One Direction and 5 Seconds Of Summer to The Rolling Stones, Beatles, Green Day, The Killers, Blink 182, etc. So, please: Just enjoy the music.
Rachel Angela one direction is bad. suck it
Oh, that's real mature. I am now 18 - this is a comment from a year ago, yet I still stand by my words. Are you a toddler just learning how to type on his first computer? Sorry that I offended you.
Rachel Angela one d is still bad lmao you're triggered
Do you think I actually care what you think? You're a coward hiding behind a computer screen. I listen to Broadway music for goodness sake. I listen to rock and roll, I listen to country, I listen to acoustics. And do you really think that YOU, an anonymous coward, is going to effect my music choices? Dream on. Have a wonderful day, and I'll enjoy my taste in music while you enjoy yours. Deal?
