    The problem with gaming is that they're constantly trying to min max to get as much as they can even if it means long term damage to the franchise. Microtransactions come hand in hand with poor design in order to get you to spend money for the game to be "good". FF14 utilizes the same "make good looking skins in cash shop" problem that a lot of other games also have.
    On the opposite end, you have the terrible AAA studio system that rushes out a game in under 2 yrs under tight schedules and deadlines. This method is unsustainable, especially if they want to commit to the same level of graphics and open world that you have in a lot of games now. Gone are the days of one studio with individual teams working on smaller individual projects.
