If you go to OLO UA-cam page, there is a very good live video from earlier this week that answers loads of questions that were not answered in this video (how many colors will be available in the future, how to refill, how the color system works, different nibs that will be available, etc.). OLO is being produced by Karin markers (the makers of Brushmarker Pro), they are a respected company.

Thank you Jaye. That was very helpful. The color system makes a lot of sense and as my hands are getting more stiff with arthritis my Copics are getting harder to refill. Also, I love my Karin markers.
I was wondering about that! The design reminded me a lot of the Karin markers, so this totally makes sense. Love the quality of their products, but ohhh, the price! 😫

I was hoping for new markers that were comparable in quality with Copics but without such a high price point. When calculated in Canadian funds, these markers are ridiculously pricey in my opinion. Thank you for sharing.

This is way beyond my budget. With rising costs of everything, necessities, are of course more important right now. Plus, I watched replay, so sale is done. I would have to wait for a sale again and split with someone. But like many others I don't have someone to split with. But thanks for this very informative video Kristina. Always so helpful. ❤
I don't know if I'm convinced quite yet. One thing I do love about Copic markers is the refill bottle. It only takes like 20 drops to refill the marker and is less waste vs buying a full cartridge. But I'd have to physically try them to see what I think. Great review!
Also, I just got my copic collection to where I am comfortable with the color choices. That has cost a fortune to acquire to this point. I don’t think I want to start all over again lol.
I think that not replacing the barrels really will also reduce the waste
I was able to build my Copics of 90 for about 100.00 dollars. Took some time to do it but I was glad i was able to get then. I live on a budget and I could not afford these. They look nice and seem to work well.
Omg just order the whole set! I am excited for them to come and test them with my copics! Yes i have fomo and full set syndrome!
I totally ordered a full set myself and also have comp and full set syndrome 😂 a lot of money at once but you really can’t beat the price once you break it down. Can’t wait!

I received the pre-sale email from OLO and liked the concept, but I was unsure. I have already invested so much into my Copics so I was hesitant to make more of an investment before seeing this. I may buy a few now. Thanks so much!
It would be great if you could get them with fine bullet nibs. I never use the chisel nib. They look like they would be great for the new collection.
It would be good to have a fine tip interchangeable barrel as well.
I believe they have bullet tip nibs in the works. Stay tuned! :)
Have you tried the Spectrum Noir alcohol pens? You get 3 colors in one pen and are so reasonably priced. To be honest, these are way out of my price range. But that company does seem to have some pretty reds and greens.
I like the Spectrum Noir tri markers. They work very well. I like them more then the regular S.N. alcohol markers. Really these are so very expensive for me.

I like that the OLO marker has a slightly shorter nib… I will probably have to get 1/2 set at a time. I did catch a live from Creativity and they said that because of the different ink delivery system that you don’t get the gushing. I also feel that the waste that is saved by the refill bottle is lost with the amount of ink that is not accessible on the Copic markers but I LOVE the recycling idea! I think they told Greg from Maker Forte that they will stand behind their products

Saw these a couple of weeks ago and was debating. So happy to see your video. Purchased the full set [gulp]. Did the black/gray with black refill as I suspect the minute I don't have a chisel, I'm going to need it. Copic has color gaps and I've filled some of those gaps with Spectrum Noir Illustrators, but let's face it -- when you predominately use alcohol markers as your card technique, one can never have enough colors.
Over the years I have bought a few Copics here and there and have never bought the refills. When I color I always feel like I am missing certain shades…. Maybe I shouldn’t impulse buy but between what just heard on your video and the recommendations on the site I bit the bullet. I don’t have a friend to split with but if someone wants to split these somehow, please contact me.

Am I missing something? The price for Olo isn’t that great. For 128 colors the price is $748.00 . Copic highest price for a set of 72 is $387 . Let’s say you buy two set of 72 colors for & 774.00 that gives you 144 colors compared to Olo’s 128 colors. And remember Copic has 358 colors , Olo is missing 230 colors.

I don't have ANY copics. Just a few Tombows and Arteza markers - which are not the same at all. Maybe I buy just these OLOs.... I'm not a 'colorer' but I'd love to have decent markers for when I do color. Right now I'm thinking I don't need a zillion colors... ha famous last words, right?!? >:>

The blond hair you colored is the best blond hair I’ve seen. I will try those colors and a few others,as I have 100 copic and about 60 refills. Are these made in the US, IF so I will start switching over as my copic dry out.
I love that these are customizable, but what about a bullet nib?? do they have any plans for that? Or for selling them individually? I also missed the video when it came out, so also the sale, very bummed! Was out of town, probably would have done the full set.

I know this is no longer live but if you have a chance to answer....will these be also offered in "sets" like sets of different skin tones (OR etc) purples, reds etc. Or is the preorder only for a full set?
So I am thinking that a single marker (brush/chisel or brush/brush etc) will run around $10.60 each once they are released? $680/128 is the "sale" price $5.31 each and after sale it is double?

I believe you can store them however you’d like? I haven’t heard one way or the other. As for pricing after the presale period, this is what I’ve been told:
Retail pricing for components:
Double-sided marker: $6.99
Single Brush: $3.80
Single Chisel: $3.15
Refill Cartridge: $2.49

I just found out about OLO markers a week or two ago. I have a very nice Copic collection that I have had for many, many and still no drying out issues. How would you recommend storing the OLO markers and do you think there could be drying out issues? Thank you!
I don't think OLO has a specific storage recommendation. They do sell a stand for them which stores the markers standing up, though.
Did she mention what type of paper she is coloring on?

I believe they will be, based on the retail display drawings. Looks like people can pick and choose colors.

Thank you for your honest review and feedback. I am wondering if the liquid alcohol ink cartridges will evaporate any faster than the ink in a Copic. Should they be stored differently than other alcohol markers? I have had some of my Copics be dry and yet they weren't ever used. Thank you for all your helpful videos ... you are amazing! Another thought on their offering -- I like using lighter color hues which is why I like Copics (the 0000, 000 & 00). Have you heard if Olo will be offering some lighter color tones of each color family for those of us that like coloring more pastel tones? Thank you again -- happy coloring!
As far as I know, you can store them however you’d like. Standing up or horizontal. (Copics can be stored the same way. If you get a dry marker it’s usually because the cap wasn’t tight or a defective cap). As for lighter colors, I haven’t heard specifically what colors they are working on for the next offering. That being said, some of the lightest shades they offer now are reminiscent of the 00 and 000 Copic colors. 🤷🏻♀️
$600+ is alot of money , however when you figure you are getting 3 full sets, that’s $200+ per set.

Yes, the actual markers will have stickers on them that indicate the color. These are just prototypes.

With Arteza, there is a huge quality difference between their regular and professional art markers. Love Altenew. I hope that OLO comes out with a bullet tip as well
You might not be able to answer since you don’t have the handle. But my question is that if you shared your set, would you need to buy more couplers so that both people could use the pens?
You could split it between two people, no problem. However, if you order a set of the refills (or if you do the special deal and get a free set of refills), you could actually share with a third person! You’d just need an additional 63 connectors and 125 tips (which I think you can buy separately), since you would have the refill cartridges which do not include a brush tip and no connectors.
These look interesting. I'd like to see some comparisons with Ohuhu. They are less than $1 each and I recently bought over 300 of them. Loving them so far and I'd love to hear some comparisons.
Copic is beyond overrated,I deff. Prefer olo
What brand do you reccomend for a teen starting out? Her bday is in a week so waiting for the OLO isnt an option. I would like to get her a basic all around starter set.
I would consider one of the smaller Copic sets (of around 55 markers, I think).
Hi Dee Daw...what I'm going to say may be sacrilegious to the main colouring community, but I'm going to say it anyway! 😄 I'm just a hobbyist who makes cards. I enjoy colouring, but am not interested in and not able to afford top-of-the-line alcohol markers. I bought a set of 48 Ohuhu markers from Amazon and really love them. That set was about $40-$45 Canadian. That set doesn't have a huge range of colours, but they have bigger sets. The options are: fine tip / chisel tip; fine tip / brush tip (hard to find in all sets); and chisel tip / brush tip. It might be a nice economical option in your case. I really do love mine. I'll be getting a bigger set once they come out with the refills (which they are working on). Like I said...that's a bit sacrilegious, but it works for me, my budget and my usage of them.😊

Currently their is not a bullet tip option. But if I recall correctly, they are working on offering a bullet tip nib you can swap in.
Can you store these laying down and standing up?
It appears both, given the way it is manufactured.
Why not brush bullet choice?
According to OLO videos, bullet nib choice is coming, and people will be able to purchase the markers in whatever configuration they choose. The choices for the introduction though, are as shown in the founders packages.

Will they fade overtime from sunlight?
All alcohol inks fade, not only from sunlight, but humidity, changes in temperature, etc.

I haven’t used Ohuhu, so unfortunately I can’t compare them. So sorry!
There is another UA-camr called Jazza. He tested al lot of alcohol markers a while back. Copics were his favorite but that was mostly because he already had most of them. The ohuhu ended up in second place and would have been his choice if he were to start. His opinion was that they are very similar but the copics have refills, the ohuhu do not.
My Copic brain is doing mental somersaults at the earth tones being labeled as oranges. 🥴
Not a happy camper. Your phone shows the $320 price but when I go to the site - it has a banner for the $320 but the price is $680 and that’s what my confirmation says. I sent an email about it and if they don’t honor the advertised price, I’ll be cancelling it. Won’t hear back until tomorrow.
The $320 refers to the free refills you get with the platinum set. It’s a $320 “value” that you’re getting for free. I purchased the full set and it was $680 as advertised.
Liz is correct. The $320 on my phone is not the price-it’s the savings.
@@kwernerdesign yeah, I went back and reread everything after I posted - apparently the brain and eyes weren’t on the same page.
My current Ohuhu markers that I got to learn alcohol marker coloring with are not refillable- as they run out I’ll be replacing them with a better marker. Do you have any tips as to how to pick a replacement that is the closest match. I’ll have to order my replacements online so won’t be able to physically compare the markers side by side ( and computer color values are not always true to color).
Unfortunately, I’m not sure. Perhaps another person online with both markers will share comparison photos for the colors.
Ohuhu, like most other cheap chinese markers, started out as a copy of Shinhan Touch markers. Look up a color chart from Shinhan to see if the color you've run out happens to be one that Ohuhu copied. The Shinhan refills are pretty inexpensive.
Copics are beyond overrated as a ex sponsored artist for copics for 3 years yes this brand has a better price point and is also refillable.

Well it's unfortunate that I need the $680. TODAY! YEP. I went to sign up to purchase them and it ENDS today. If one waits it'll be $1280. More expensive to buy Copics but I can get each set and have all the Copics over a few months and more colors to blend with. I love that I learned of them but thinkin I'll go a different direction. Decision kinda made for me since I can't just spend over $600. in a pop. My faith teaches us not to charge. It's debt. BTW it's longer since it has a center coupler. I do like brush tip over bullet or chisel since I paint.
