Turns out the Japanese version of GT2 has different rally physics. The cars oversteer a lot more, and have less grip overall. I quite like that to be honest, but it does make driving fast tougher. IT took me by surprised yesterday, as I went through the licenses and for once in my life had trouble golding the rally ones haha.
Apologies for the wiiiiide screen. I don't have any magical way to put 3 gameplay screens on one ^^'
Also whoops, i missed a music loop's volume. Welp, it just goes quieter.
i thought it was scrolled down
This *Could* Explain why the rally licenses are super easy in the PAL and NTSC-U version. But that depends on if the time requirements have changed.
To be fair i always thought that the rally felt heavy compared to other games, exactly because it was hard af to actually make the car oversteer to make the cars take the turn like the pros you always see on TV or other videos. Japan has a much more prominent drifting culture, InitialD for example, so i guess they thought the yankees wouldnt know how to drive if you gave them a shift stick xD
That's kinda stupid. There's a lot of "rally" in the US. They're just called hillclimbs. A lot of them were dirt.
Also GT dirt physics feel like ice already. I can't believe there's a version that makes it worse.
@@johncarl5505 gt physics are waaaaaaaaaay easier to drive than what you get on the pro rally games like Dirt 3 and Dirt Rally
Thank you for the video, I finally understand why I always feel rally's are difficult and different from youtube videos...since I play JP version...
Wow! A 4k definition! And here are some challenges by me: 1. Beat Muscle Cars on stock Clio Sport n Delta Integrale Collezione (Seatle Circuit Full Course); 2. Beat Ford GT40 on Rover Mini Mark1 (Rome Circuit or Grindelwald); 3. Won the 2nd Clubman Cup race on stock Tigra; 4. Beat the time 01:09:000 on Escudo (Laguna Seca).
I heard that there's a difference in rally physics between Japanese version and international ones, but finally I saw how they differ!
Thank you very much. Surprised at 10-second-faster lap in Tahiti Maze...
Nice job at the spot! So then the cool power slides in the videos and commercials was based on the jp version.....
what’s the bg music loop? sounds like the spongebob lost episode walk cycle
It's the japanese theme for Mitsubishi in GT1
I understand now with this comparaison
thats why licence times are so easy on western versions?
I think it's one reason yeah. I don't know all the time differences off hte top of my head, but PD didn't adjust them well enough if they tried
this is huuuge! thanks!
That's kinda interesting
Mod idea: Plymouth Superbird=>Dodge Charger Daytona
Is the on road physics different as well?
Road physics seem identical, as far as i can tell. However, the mistake 306 in the NA Tuned series is trailing behind instead of up front due to the lessened grip with its dirt tires
