I find it interesting that if these are ranked in order of ability, the order is wrong. Also interesting is that fact that no Okinawan is in the mix and the JKA corrupted Funakoshi's karate into a sport while karate was never a sport on Okinawa and still isn't. Nyshiyama ... fame is in my opinion explainable only with a sort of mass hypnosis ... it is completely VISIBLE that he did not move well, even when he was young .. he did not even remotely possess the frightening power of Master Kase .. the harmonic movements of Kanazawa or the Kime that YOU SEE in Master Shirai .. and I say this from one who participated in 7-8 of his stages .. gatherings full of endless chat where (again) you could NOT see anything or almost and yet inexplicably people she seemed as if she was rapt in heaven as she spoke ...

Concerning the title of the video this video is pointless. As it is only about Shotokan. And leaves aside all other Ryu-ha of Karate. Only in the description you write what the actual title of the video should have been. And Masatoshi Nakayama placing first? Seriously??? M. Nakayama, H. Nishiyama and H. We will never see the likes of these wonderful Senseis ever again. The extreme discipline and hours of training are not being repeated anymore.
They all were extraordinary.
Great karate masters
Sensei Kase's technical level and power has been unparalleled .. Oss.
I have heard Kase got challenged by other fighter and they all got defeated.

Kanazawa, assolutamente.
kanazawa is the best
Masutatsu Oyama
Number one Masutatsu Oyama
Horse apples!! The man was a thug.

I made a separate video on the master Asai ....
Okazaki Sensei should be included.
Those included are no where near the top five ever and Nishiyama taught me,
You should stipulate JKA. Also you skip Okazaki Sensei and Shirai Sensei, who cannot be placed below Abe Sensei.
He forgot about Funakoshi.....

ok, all 5 were from Shotokan, the other styles didn't qualify and sadly Funakoshi didn't make the cut either.
