- The West is planning to sanction China and they will discuss the plan at the next G7 meeting. I personally think that the West will only succeed in self-isolating itself from the rest of the world and lose their credibility.

It's kinda crazy how fast once great nations like the UK and France have lost thier standing in the world in the post ww2 era. I'm Chinese, and I completely can't understand the United States. Twenty years ago, both Russia and Syria had already said to the US: "Alright, we give up." The US said: "Kneel!" Russia and Syria asked: "Can we squat?" The US replied, "No, you must kneel!" Meanwhile, China has been standing (occasionally squatting).
As a result, now everyone is against the US. Chinese are very familiar with this situation; we often say, "The world has suffered from America for too long."

I used to live in England and Europe was the place to be foe me. It was peaceful, civilised, and democratic. At least, that was my sentiments. The destruction of the gas pipeline sent shockwave and the lack of response in EU was total changed my belief. Those pipelines were the lifelines of Europe, yet some invisible hands were set out to destroy them and Olaf was quiet like a mouse. I realised whose wearing a pant in the Atlantic alliance.
That ECO-GREEN policy put them firmly in the "we are stuffed" corner. They couldn't protest because that would mean they are actually pro Fossil Fuel.

As long as there was no alternative, countries had to follow the US. Now that they see an other option, it is tempting to try something different, like a model of cooperation rather than submission.
Unfortunately, Europe doesn't have leaders capable to see pass their direct and short term interest, they follow the US like well trained puppies. The world is changing and the sooner we accept it, the better it will be for everyone.
