It's about FREAKING time!!! No really... It's about TIME. Me and my buddy Sean McCallum used to trade these comics back and forth in "HIGH"' school. Together we had every issue, then later I made sure I had them all. Wish I knew where they were now... I miss the days of those old comix like Zap, Fritz the Cat, & FFFB. I just got the best of Wonder Warthog from Amazon. TONS of classics in that one and several I've never seen, including the banned comic where he fucks Lois Lamebrain with his snout.
@zero. Got into these at about 12 years old. Found comics with a huge stack of hustlers. Anyways I think I had 4 or 5 comics. Those were easy to hide. The 40-50 issues of hustler not so much. Didn't know anything about drugs back then. So they were hilarious. Ended up actually reading all the hustlers. I learned some crazy shit from those. Hid them in the bushes in the alley inside a huge dog food bag. One day they weren't there. But I had those comics forever and bought the issues I didn't have. They disappeared sometime over the last 35 years or so. Nobody I know knows anything about them. So it's kind of a personal enjoyment to see this even if it sucks.

I remember reading my older brother's Freak Brother's comics when I was about 7. Didn't understand the references, but knew the characters looked alot like my Brother's friends.
I love the fact they had a cat door in the entry. I'm liking Franklins voice and Fat Freddy Scat. Phineas and Fat Freddy still need less cartoony voices. NOBODY that has read these comics has EVER imagined voices like these. They have always been realistic in our heads.
It's always tricky when you take something from the pages to the tv screen. We had to make some adjustments to bring it to 2020 while trying to keep it as true to the comic vibes as possible! We appreciate your insight and especially being an OG fan!
Yeah, it's gone from an "anti-establishment, cheap dope, and free love" city and changed into more like a "homeless meth-heads, cheap hookers, and free trash on the streets where dead bodies are found" city.
This brings back some memories. Heh....I remember buying my first FB comic, I think it was the one where they go on a road trip to Mexico, around the first time I bought an LP with my own money. Be around 79-80. My old man took the comic off me, stormed up the street to the record shop, and demanded to know why they were trying to corrupt minors. 😂
I grew up with my parents' comics, when I was a kid I already freaked out with the special of fat Freddie's cat taking an acid and the whole battle with the fascist cockroaches, now I see this and I feel at home again, very fan of the Freaks, my friends always said that my house was a bit like being with the Merry Pranksters but in Andalusia, I am glad to see them back !!!

Good effort - in many ways great. You've captured the happy anarchy. All the detailing, the art and animation, the jokes and gags, is really, really good and I can't really complain about the writing, except to say placing the Freaks in the present every episode (so far) is just as limiting as having the Freaks set only in 1969. The voices are off, I think - no offense to the voice artists. Franklin not so deeply cowboy drawling. Freddy needs to sound tubbier - a little slower, more saliva. Phineas not near as squeaky - more like a Brooklyn/Americanized eastern European accent. Like Dustin Hoffman crossed with Jerry Garcia. Fat FreddyScat - I can appreciate the idea of adding a female voice to fill out the cast of characters and elevating the character to a more prominent role, and it is a great voice effort but I think it's too off canon. The cat has always had balls. I thought the first mini episode was great - very funny - screw all the butthurt right wing fascist fart knockers - Phineas Freak has always been a fire breathing, "power to the people," left leaning anarchist while his mates just didn't give a shit. Franklin saying, "Sieg Heil" was LOL. The Freaks weren't just about weed, though, but I understand why it might be hard to get a deal for more episodes if you include what should be a due amount of dangerous felony controlled substance usage and the subsequent adventures under their various influences. I am glad you all are producing these - sorry if I come off as negative. I look forwards to more.
