Same, I thought the Natlan characters seem heavily inspired by Pokemon. They look like gym leaders to me 😆

dendro guy looks like a blend of pokemon and kingdom hearts, even the weapon he's holding in the trailer looks like a keyblade

@@TYROSY I can see the Guy and the Hydro girl, the Geo one didn't strike me as that useful, unless her climbing with her little drill don't use Stamina, then I guess she will be good as well.

It is SUPER smart to release Emilie in the second phase. It's not just about people having more time to get Primogems for her, but for everyone else to reconsider pulling for her in the days right before Natlan when the kits of 5.0 characters are made known. I strongly suspect based on the Talking Stick, the Natlan Pyro theme, and Emilie herself that burning will be one of (if the the only) the central mechanics in Natlan combat. It will even affect your own party, so constant party-wide healing will get more value (think of our recent healers: Sigewinne, Xianyun, and even Furina in Pneuma stance, and the semi-recent Song of Days Past artifact set).
I love Emilie sm 😭 it's gonna hurt skipping her, but I'm trying to save for this patch and wait on future Natlan characters! But she's definitely on my To Pull list!

@@phoenixlau I typically like all the voices. The actress voicing her isn’t bad it’s just I thought by looking at the character model Emilie would have a more mature voice. Her voice sounds like something one of the child characters would have.

The funny thing about you mentioning starter pokemon is that there's one Hydro, one Dendro and the last one is Geo. Almost the starter trio elements. Missed opportunity imo.

I'm taking bets if we will ever have 12 playable characters with melanin. We have 6 now out of 84 now. Maybe we get another 4 like Sumeru and then we head to the last nation Russia and probably get 0.

At least GI has dark-skinned playable characters, while HSR got Penacony (based on the Jazz Age), where every dark-skinned character was relegated to an NPC.

after seeing this for me i think hoyo is trying to force their player base to stay and play the game more and build more characters and it will backfire if they want only devoted players for their community thats fine i dont thiink the majority of community is that devoted
I mean not really.
One of the complaints so many people had is that they build characters and have nothing to use them for.
Hence why the theatre was so focused on making as large a team as possible.
They've kept the requirement kind of low all things considered seeing as you only need to reach lvl 70.

Which makes sense, because Natlan is a nation we've literally never even seen an NPCs from. They seem to keep themselves to themselves (just like Inazuma during the "Vision Hunt Degree"), so it makes sense that they look "different" from the rest, because they don't know how the world outside of Natlan looks like!
Personally, I'm loving their looks (though they are too white!) and can't wait to see what Natlan brings!
