Writing wise and artistically Nikke is a real gem but the technical issues and monetization are definitely holding it back. Will be sticking around for as long as I can because the story and character writing really is good enough to hold this game up.
Imagine calling the game dead this early on lol. It's only been 3 months this game has been out. Usually games die after a year but not sooner. Looking at you Tower of Fantasy. Genshin is also dying down cause there latest content had been weak and there already running out of ideas for characters since the last few have been carbon copies or older ones but with a different element.
Writing wise, it is quite enjoyable but not a gem yet. I do spot on plothole and localization team wierd direction of flip flopping to adress commander as either he or them while promotional pic and jp script adressing commander as male. Lastly cp spike did kill the story pacing which unfortunate since the story pacing momentum is good.
Like the old saying. came for the waifus, stayed for the plot. Generally my three rules for gacha is music, story, and gameplay. If two out of three is in a game im definitely going to play it. I played Nikke, is a fun side gacha and most of the part, this game is a perfect side game to have and also there is enough content if you willing to read. That aside stay F2P, I really don't want to eat ramen for a month ^^
You've more or less summed up exactly what I think and how I feel regarding Nikke. Out of all the games that I've played this year, this is the one that honestly surprised me the most in so many different ways. The highlights for me with Nikke are definitely the OST, and a story that I would daresay is peak fiction. It has its flaws, but it also has things that I think other gacha games should be taking notes on as well.

I remember when the dev team created a fb page back in the day, and they used to get only "haha" reactions on their posts and mostly negative comments about "scam" or "this game never gonna be playable" Is really great to see that a lot of people do like the game✨
Even if NIKKE eventually flops over. I genuinely still enjoy the game as F2P, having to deal with the idle portion is my only setback, I would love some kind of replayability in like EX missions - make them endlessly scale like tower as another way for rewards. Or even make a better use of the stamina in the outpost for the RP scenes with the NIKKE for gifts, I wouldn’t mind using 1 stamina for an extra daily clear of interception.

If you guys wanted to literally create Waifu with whatever your preference is PSO2:NGS is the way, you can create your own Nikke with big guns, sword or whatever weapon you fancy or you can create albedo, 2B, Sahsa Braus, Zero two, Mikasa Ackerman or even Denji and power in the game. The game kinda action rpg like, in term of equipment there is little difference between free player or whale, only appearance.

I feel like that old meme of "I read Playboy for the articles." (Oh, and Pepper is precious and must be protected, along with Rapi and Scarlet!)
The stated changes coming in the next patch include their changing the recommended power for chapters 13-18 so I will finally be able to progress again.

And good lord I'm over 1k pulls and only have Rapunzel and Noah for Pilgrim tower. Nikke PLEASE. I know I'm getting Modernia, but my Pilgrim drought is feels bad. I'm not one to get overly excited about lucky pulls, but I might scream by the time I see Harran and Scarlet, IF they don't get powercrept. That all aside, good game, good story, good characters. But yeah story difficulty starts jumping up by 5-8k and I can't move again for a WHILE.

i played nikke briefly at launch... didnt play much and eventually moved onto other gachas.... game just seemed simple..... but after hearing over and over again about the story.. i decided to give it another go... started with the red hood event quest... so glad i gave it another chance
The prospect of picking up another never ending gacha game is daunting. Time being the biggest factor even bigger the than the financial aspect. Especially since both story and fanservice match so well better than most gacha games.
Its an idle game you play on the side. No need to rush the content. Enjoying the story a lot. I'm about to hit the 160 wall (need dupes to continue), but I'll continue to enjoy the events.
One thing I hate about the game is farming the simulation it’s annoying if they added an ability to just auto without actually having to keep picking perks and picking which one you want to do next. Also my game keeps crashing when I recruit
the only thing that I wanted till the first event story of NIKKKE is an event recollection in the recollection tab at CC, cause currently the only options there are building and story recollection, cause I accidentally skipped the final story of blanc and noir event story as well as missed the april fools event
