"In the summer of 2006 I went to visit my two great-aunts (from my father's side) Mitzi and Stefi in Trieste, Italy. I've always been inspired by my Dad singing in Italian and wanted to find a song that would be both a love song and a prayer. After spending an afternoon at the Piazza Unita d'Italia with my boys, I walked into a small bookstore run by some order of nuns and picked up a book of Italian religious music. I looked at "Dell'Aurora tu sorgi piu bella", hummed a few measures to myself and bought the book.
I had the perfect song. I love singing it. It is a love song, a prayer and it brings up the memories of my Dad singing Italian songs and melting hearts." - Tajci
UPDATE: Recently we received an email from Maggiorino "Maggi" Guida (Napoli, Italia), the nephew of the priest who wrote this magnificent song. He gifted us with the story of how this song came to life:
"Don" Luigi Guida was a priest in a little Italian country village near Napoli, Massaquano, very close to Sorrento as well (Infact "Don" is the priests' title here).
He was a musician and music teacher too. Born in 1883, he died in 1951.
His little masterpiece was "Dell'Aurora Tu Sorgi più Bella", he wrote for The Virgin Mary, The Queen of Universe, to whom he devoted his life.
He wrote its music and words as well.
My dad told that "Zio Luigino" (Uncle Luigino) was a simple man. He rejected more important jobs as musician in the Roman Church and possible honours, he
preferred to stay with his family and people.
