Thank You! The phone is mainly working after the fix, but i managed to break the earspeaker while removing it. The components are much more difficult to disassemble in reality than in the video. The video was prepared (components already loose).
This M4 had already been opened completely, it is much more difficult.
To change only the display, all you have to do is remove the battery and lower unit, first disconnect the ribbon cable.

Good tuto, although you really don't need to remove the motherboard and everything underneath it. Just remove the loudspeaker and the microphone/sub antenna board, which makes you save a lot of time and avoid breaking components. The video doesn't show how tedious it is, everything is glued! But don't sweat it, it's doable, and it's the first time I do something like this, just be gentle with the components.
One more thing, when you remove the screen be careful, it's composed by a "glass screen" and some component underneath it's smaller, you have to remove both together otherwise the glass will break in little fragments (it happened to me and trust me, it sucks and it's dangerous). Good luck!!

Hey, i followed these instructions when i assembled phone back together but now i have problem that soon as i connect battery to motherboard it starts heating(motherboard) when phone isnt even turned on, which it doesnt do when i try. i didnt put back cover sticker yet but i pressed back cover in its place by hand. I dont think it should start heating soon as i connect battery right?
Wear safety goggles or glasses... there are parts in this that ping out (when taking the motherboard apart)

i ordered a new screen and it came without an LCD flex (despite the guy saying it's all you need to repair a broken screen) is it too risky to try to connect it myself you think?
which flex it missed, the longer one or the shorter one touch screen flex? well I don'rt think you should do it yourself, if things you ordered were different as you thought it would be, contact the store and tell your puzzles. hope this can help you

You've cracked the LCD underneath the glass. It might not be easy to see the crack but it is there. This repair will work for you if done correctly.

my antenna mount broke off my Microphone and Sub antenna board. $6.00 and wait and see if it arrives. wish a store would stock this stuff since you can not always have all the parts you need on hand!

My glass screen broken a couple a days ago, I was about to repair it with a technical guy but he told me the after repair it, it won't be waterproof anymore! Is that true?
Yes, it's true. To repair M4 Aqua you have to remove the original waterproof glue, and it would NOT be waterproof anymore after you did it.
I followed the instructions and the screen is normal, but the touchscreen doesn`t work :( Can you help me? I don`t know what I did wrong.

Check the LCD Flex connector, is it intact? Sometimes the connector will be bent or parted when connected, and any damage to the connector will make the screen fail to follow your orders.

Mine got water damaged, too, so it is just rubbish. Water depth was 25-30 cm, no chlore, no saltwater. 15 minutes later, its done working.

A suggestion would be to not disassemble everything, only whats necessary (like said in a couple other comments). This ofcourse, for the people that blindly follow this diy, like myself.

We suggest you replace new LCD Screen with Digitizer for both M4. For the first one, problem is the cracked front glass, and for the second one is the damaged LCD screen. We’ve been trying to replace just the Front Glass but turns out it’s difficult to do that without damaging the digitizer, because the two parts are sticker together by machine, and it would NOT be easy to separate them.

Did you heat up the screen before open it? plz heat it up with 100-150 centi degree for 2-3 minutes, then try do that again

motherboard is a precise part, any tiny scratch or damage would affect the whole phone or even ruin it. remove it just for insurance
+Wit Rigs it is totally unnecessary thing to remove the motherbosrd as it very strongly installed, if you remove then yes you can damage the mother board.
From 1.00 Microphone and Sub antenna board is already taken loose. Be very careful with that, use a lot of heat. Those dummies don't use heat in any situation of taking that part off. Heat shideld is contacted to chip, and that flex cable will snap if you dont use heat.
So I would say this video is garbage.
Do not use this tutorial. It's not detailed enough. With no or little experience you will broke your phone with this video.
Thank you your video helped a lot, be wary if removing the mother board make sure the memory card and sim card are removed first, the sim had been removed but I forgot to remove the memory card so when I removed the motherboard I ended up breaking the memory card holder, also be carefull with the flex cable on the replacement screen as I ended up damaging it, so I had to replace the replacement screen but it works now and I have a replacement memory card holder but I have not fitted it yet, my next job for another day :)

Video was rushed through too quick, parts were breaking off of components like the charge port as I was removing as was not explained or shown in a detailed manner, now have parts for phone that I cant use.
La video montre un téléphone ou toute la colle a été enlevé et bien nettoyé , puis remonté , par exemple la petite plaque du bas est noyé dans la colle et elle est tres tres fragile.
Idem pour celle du haut. Pour chaque plaque il faut s'y reprendre de nombreuse fois si on n'a l'experience (et meme ...) Peu de réparateur accepte de remplacer cet ecran... et si ils accepte c'est plus chère qu'un tel neuf ...

Wifi antenna is set between the middle frame and screen supporting frame. Did you check if the Signal connector set well? both of them
Hi nice video but why the hell you remove the motherboard its total crazy ok when you heating up something can happend with peaker... but its bullsh*t if you take care and the last take down the korners WHAAAAAAAT its the most craziest think i ever heard

Crap phone with to less RAM and ridiculous internal memory of 8GB .... on which hardly any Android system fits... additionally the Sony Original ROM is packed full of non-sense Applications.
Got a Xiaomi A2 Lite with Android One as replacement and I am freaking happy to throw that shit phone away.

my digitizer stopped working after this
I have replaced lcd and touch screen after crashing it. I replaced it and digitizer stopped working after half an hour of using the phone. I opened it again, removed battery and all flex cables. Then I it back and start it again and it works now. One of the flex was the issue I suppose...

What if I only want to change the digitizer?
We've tried to do that and found it's difficult to separate the glass and digitizer without breaking any one of them, so the suggestion is replace them together. Hope it can help you. :)

I DROPPED THIS PHONE INTO WATER AND IT DOESN'T WORK!!! Screen shows me nonsenses, such as green or white stripes on black screen. Although, it still vibrates and recongnizes the power button. Is LCD the only problem?
Did you try power off/on the phone immediately after it drop to water? I suggest you open the back cover, release the battery ribbon cable, then get several dry newspaper to pack it and keep it for 48 hours, then see if the screen still show the strips

Now that the screen is replaced(according to video)... everything works... only thing is that.. screen doesnt recognise my touches... what can be wrong?? btw I double checked the screen cable etc... I would appreciate any feedback and possible solution...
did you try to restart the screen? if it still doesn't work, there must be something wrong with lcd screen. did you test the screen before installation?

I think that this video is to fast,the steps must be more useful,the speaker is glued to the bracket and the jac is so tight conneckted that is not possible to take out,and this lock under the charging port is glued to the frame

generally it'd just weak phone's speed of radiating. cause it's radiating tape :)

i was doing 2 now there is no way you take this lcd with this little sution cup[ i have whole same equipment even better I couldnt do it i took them out but they are broken
