I'm so glad you mentioned the short-term effects of in-office whitening. I did Zoom whitening a couple months ago, and no joke, my teeth were already starting to yellow again within two weeks despite regular brushing. They're not as bad as they were, but for almost $700, I *really* expected results that would last way longer!
@@shnizzlsmashizzls I went back to the office and asked about it, and they said that some people can get by with using the touch-up trays once every week or two, others might need to do it more often due to their habits (smoking, drinking coffee or soda, etc.). I'm a heavy soda drinker, so maybe that's what happened? Dunno. I'm going to give it a shot though and see what happens. Gotta say, though, if I'd known I was going to have to use the trays anyway, especially that often, I never would have done the Zoom. I would have just done the trays and saved several hundred dollars in the process.
@@amandas2639 maybe give up the sodas & switch to carbonated water it so bad for your teeth anyways and waist line, and everything else as it cause minerals like potassium to be flushed out of your system.
smoking & soda you will never have white teeth but whoever you went to is righ drinking soda heavily & smoking will keep you going back often...good luck
fantastic video thank you. going to try the white strips if it doesn't work will do the dental trays. Been using whitening toothpaste for ages and while i feel it helps i need just that extra more to make my front crown blend in
This video was very helpful, so much on the market I didn't even know where to begin or should I spend the money & it doesn't work. So now I have a direction and the crest lux 3d shouldn't ok to buy.
I use the 1 hour express crest white strips I am maintaining my teeth now but when I 1st started used them everyday for 2 weeks & they really did work but you must use daily at 1st was so easy & I get so many compliments about my white teeth I get them on e bay for $14 thru $20 and they are not old the drug stores want $ 50 to 60 for same product so don't pay those prices and they last long have patience I like the 1hr exp never had problem buying oneway just got a box for $15 wipe teeth dry put strip on do same for bottom only 1 hour don't drink with them 1 jr is not long .good luck
I only buy the Crest 1 Hr. express by the box I never get single strips , whats the point just read exactly what seller is selling make sure irts whole sealed box, usually 14 strips. from $ 14 -20... .good luck
I used to use straight hydrogen peroxide as a mouthwash and I really did see a difference but I ran out and I forgot to buy some and my teeth are back to square 1
Don't use straight hydrogen peroxide as it effects the good bacteria in your mouth. It can be used on strips for your teeth but just straight liquid is too much for the whole mouth.
I looked at every one of your videos and did not find part 2 of the above video from 7 Dec 2019 wherein you said that Tonya will do half of her mouth with custom overnight trays and half with Crest Whitestrips. I viewed your 2019 video on 9 Sep 2022. Can you can relabel the part 2 video so it stands out or add it as a link in your 7 Dec 2019 video? Many thanks.
I agree I use Crest 1 hr express. buy on E bay very reasonable 15 to 20 in box sealed never had an issue saw them in big drug store for 65 thats so ridiculous for what they are..Thanks
It's a shame the comments are full of men who are jealous of you when you're literally just giving a great explanation.. you made a great point about how certain additives may have an impact on sensitivity and pointing out the part about the whitestrips not covering the full smile. I just bought some but now I feel a little more prepared before I process them.. Thank you! ❤
Not worth it at all. The light is pure gimmick that literally does absolutely nothing because peroxide (the stuff that’s actually making our teeth white) is not activated or potentiated by any kind of light!
Why is that none of these videos talk about the myriad of hydrogen peroxide free whitening products on the market with all sorts of whitening claims? It's literally difficult to find one with hydrogen peroxide in it, and it would be good to know if these peroxide-free products are a complete scam, or if there are some other actives that might work.
Carbamide peroxide also works, but that's basically a derivation of hydrogen peroxide. If a tooth whitener is devoid of either of those ingredients or doesn't have them in high enough concentration, it's not gonna work.
I have never found any of them to work. If you're in the EU you can't find hydrogen peroxide bleaching because it's banned over a concentration of 0.1%.
Hi, I'm 14 and would like to whiten my teeth. Do you recommend that I use whitening strips? I am on a budget so should I whiten my teeth at 14? If so what process do I use?
Bought the $80 kit w "light" which was defective. Customer Service, Proctor/Gamble HORRIBLE!! MONTHS later still waiting for my "refund" in the form of a debit card. Which the Rep told me...if i want to use it for gas ... not useable at the pump...must enter the store. BtW ...see no difference..maybe the light was the key, though the Rep told me to continue use.
I see that making a plastic mold is part of the process, but I don't understand the benefit of this step. Why is using a print of the teeth prefered over taking a mold directly from the mouth?
Great video until the last minute when she botched the molecular difference between hydrogen peroxide (Poladay) and carbamide peroxide (Polanight). Carbamide Peroxide simply adds a urea molecule next to every hydrogen peroxide molecule to give a 'stabilized', slow release (gentler delivery) of hydrogen peroxide. "Removing the carbamide part", as she says, does not remove "additives & thickeners" to result in a "pure carbamide peroxide" (that doesn't even make sense). "Removing the carbamide part" would simply be going from the Polanight formulation to Poladay formulation. But I'm still giving thumbs up because it was excellent discussion up until that fumble.

MUCH better and professional presentation. Something I feel I can trust! Others are so sketchy and none specific!
the strips worked for me, if they are a bit crooked, use a toothpick to push it in between the teeth.
Is there a burger componant with that?
I don't have crooked teeth but that's exactly what I do use a flosser & just press in between teeth best I can
thats exactly what I do it works
Thank you 🤩
Perfectly presented and spoken with gorgeous white teeth 🥰

Your teeth looks phenomenal in both whiteness and how straight they look! I guess it is expected since you're a dentist.

What is the gel tray option called to whiten your teeth? It sounds better than in office?
Peggy Brown, your the bomb. Thank you so much.
Crest now has the light tech out, I've heard of snow light tech. Is it worth the money?
Not worth it at all. The light is pure gimmick that literally does absolutely nothing because peroxide (the stuff that’s actually making our teeth white) is not activated or potentiated by any kind of light!
do you have a video with Tonya trying different whitening solutions please?

She's gotta be a fellow Canadian according to the way she says 'about'.
Crest says it removes stains, but the whitening doesn’t last? It sounds like it just covers the stains.
It removes stains. No tooth whitening system is permanent.

Banned in the Uk tho ?
They have something in their water they drink that already destroys their teeth. May we that's why? They probably have weaker enamel
No, I get mine on Amazon.

They can’t build the tray onto your teeth (because it’s made using molten rubber) so they first need to make a model of your teeth.
