One question at a time, I did my NREMT in 73 questions. It felt good to have that out come

I love your videos brother, I've been an EMT for 17 years and I must say that I have learned a lot more from your videos. Thank you everything you are doing and keep it up, because your videos will help a lot of new EMT and veteran EMTs become great out in the field.

I am not going into the medical field but these videos are great for being able to figure out how bad of an emergency something is. I'm trying to figure out a better way to say this. In the mean time yall get the wonderful way my brain worded this shit. Anyway have a great day, I enjoy your videos.

What exactly is the difference between a needle decompression and using a 3 sided dressing?

Question for you Evan… today at medic school we were doing trauma scenarios and I was team lead for a cardiac tamponade. Patient had becks triad and BP was 80/60 or so. I treated it with large bore IVs monitor O2 and gave 250 ml of saline but decided not to keep going with fluid due to obstructive shock and the heart not being able to pump the fluid it already has. At the end my instructor advised we load the patient with fluid. This just didn’t make sense to me as it is comparable to a heart failure scenario, just that the heart is failing for a different reason. I don’t see how loading a heart that already can’t pump with more fluid is going to help hypotension. He also mentioned there could be internal bleeding. Wondered what your opinion of treatment for hypotensive tamponade is.

thank you. i was told you place the needle for decompression all the way in regardless of the size of the patient. is that true? like if i am using the 10g needle on a pediatric patient for decompression would i want to insert the needle all the way even though their chest size would be smaller than an adult?
