Chest Trauma is one of the hallmark EMT lessons that you will encounter in EMT School. Traumatic Emergencies such as Tension Pneumothorax, Cardiac Tamponade are common questions on NREMT exams.
Paramedics that practice advanced life support also have standing orders to use needle decompression to treat tension pneumothorax out in the field. Inside this video, I breakdown these two different emergencies as well as the skill of needle decompression.
Whether you are in EMT School, AEMT School, or Paramedic or getting prepared to pass the NREMT exam this video will give you vital information to make sure you are ready for NREMT exam day. I look forward to you taking your next step in EMS education.
Be Great!

Hello, hopefully you can see my comment I have right chest trauma I get pain but I feel somewhat ok, will the aireventually go into my heart and cause it to fail? Please answer my question I'm anxious now 🙃
Hey guys just a little motivation the first time I took my national registry for my paramedic I got cut off at 80 questions and passed I decided to recert by exam and got all 150 questions for everybody who is about to take their exam don't freak it's going to be okay ! Take a deep breath focus on the question and pass that test
One question at a time, I did my NREMT in 73 questions. It felt good to have that out come
Nice !

How about pulmonary cardiac contusion and myocardial contusion what is the diffences about this two and also thoracic flap of (flail chest) please answer 😩 and with example Like tension pneumothorax I really needed right now 😊🙏 Thanks! in advance and God bless you
thank you. i was told you place the needle for decompression all the way in regardless of the size of the patient. is that true? like if i am using the 10g needle on a pediatric patient for decompression would i want to insert the needle all the way even though their chest size would be smaller than an adult?
yeah that's wrong.
