At the end of the day, the definitions and details of werewolves depend on the community and the setting.
I got used to the various lists of werewolf cliches catering to the principles of drama/angst/tragedy/horror, so I decided to create my own solo roleplaying setting for my stories and my imagination.
The werewolves of my setting aren't what they are because of a curse or a disease or godly wrath, they are simply a community of magical beings who cultivated the ability to shape one's form for practical/personal reasons, often sharing that knowledge to those who see it... if the wolf deems them to be honest and worthy of that knowledge.
