AI is not going to the technological "miracle" everyone is pretty much expecting it to be. The way AI technology is currently evolving is a little on the scary side of things, because companies currently developing AI simply do not see just how fast they really are advancing in this particular field, in other words, what is currently being predicted to be with us capability-wise within say, 2 years, is more likely to be here, and well established in more like 6 months, and that`s probably a generous over-estimation of the way AI technology is currently progressing. When companies currently developing AI use the AI tech they have invented to further the development of the AI evolution process, then the overall progess of AI itself, will more likey exponentially evolve so much faster than that of which we know today, and that day is coming VERY SOON. All in all, AI in the right hands, can become a good thing, changing the way in which we all live our lives for the overall better and good.However the flip-side of this is if AI goes bad - e.g, gain use in technologies such as, completely sentient, autonomous, self decision making artificial human-like robots and other similar technologies currently being developed around the world, it only takes one of these technologies to go rogue, become self-aware, self decision making and simply end up deciding that humanity is no more than put simply, a "stumbling block" in the way of it`s own ideals and progress - this could be exactly the type of scenario that may or may not spell the end for humaity. It is with this in mind, that all AI technologies should really be designed with a cut-off/kill switch protocol on the off-chance that things no longer seem prosperous for humankind because they have gone rogue somehow no thanks to the advancements of AI technology development - all you companies out there currently developing AI - for future developments within your comany, keep one most important thing in mind whilst diong this - tread VERY CAREFULLY in future with all of your current developments and ideas if you value not just your own, but the potential future of humanity as a whole.
