    Nice vid thanks. LMAO when you called the big croaker a "solid stud" then Mr. Stud Croaker started to curse you out by croaking up a storm! 👍

    Idk if I would call that light tackle 😂. For redfish, flounder, and trout inshore I use a 7’ medium fast st croix avid and a 3k stradic… 15 lb braid … either way great video !

    Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe most of those fish you were catching were spot. If so they don't have size or creel limits.

    • @SchusterFishes
      @SchusterFishes  6 років тому

      Matthew White They were all croaker. Spot are a lil different

    Use spoons they work good in that spot I fish their a lot and spoons are seem to work for almost anything blues, shad, Spanish mackerel.

    Never fished the inlet before. Going to be there for a few days in a couple weeks. Any suggestions for first timers? Rod length, rig set up, weights, line strength, bait/lures, etc. Thanks

    • @SchusterFishes
      @SchusterFishes  4 роки тому

      That’s asking a lot it all depends on what you’re doing...7-8ft rod is pretty good all around size. If you’re fishing in the rocks you need pretty heavy leader, if you’re just casting metal lures you can go pretty light

  • @michaelwaltemire2501
    @michaelwaltemire2501 6 років тому

    Nice! I'm heading down there this Saturday for a week. What # line and what # leader are you using? Hoping to get into some stripers too, so want something strong enough for all.

    • @SchusterFishes
      @SchusterFishes  6 років тому

      It depends I usually use 30lb braid and 30lb leader. If I’m togging I tie up 60#

    What pound line should I use at the inlet?

    what pier, i went today at the oceanic pier in OC and it was so windy, no one was catching anything

    • @SchusterFishes
      @SchusterFishes  6 років тому

      Christian Pabon Tried the Cape pier. I’d rather kayak out there. I would fish off the rocks in OC instead of that pier

      @benkfishing9841 6 років тому

      Yeah but imagine how awkward it would of been it wasn’t you plus I was with my dad. I forgot to ask you yesterday do you know any good flounder spots around the Bethany beach, rehoboth beach , ocean city area ?

    • @SchusterFishes
      @SchusterFishes  6 років тому +1

      Ben K The Back bays of all of those areas hold flounder. Catching flounder out of the surf in Delaware is really tough. All my flounder videos are from the Lewes area or OC

    • @benkfishing9841
      @benkfishing9841 6 років тому

      Ok thanks . I think we’re gonna go to bubble gum beach right next to the inlet today to try and catch some flounder

    • @SchusterFishes
      @SchusterFishes  6 років тому

      Ben K that’s a good spot, the other side of the coast guard station is good too close too the wall.

    Keeping eight inch croakers....are a fishermen low.....12 inches are the norm for most of the hardcore fishermen in short you poached...even if the limit size is 8 inches...as a true waterman you let the little ones go and wait out for the bigger ones

      @@SchusterFishes not a weirdo most of your videos are great....this wasnt your best and with people keeping fish at and below minimal size people like you and me should keep the standards above the norm but if you choose the route of keeping the size and its below the norm of true fishermen so beit.....your no better than the koreans or hispanics who get busted for keeping small fish

    • @SchusterFishes
      @SchusterFishes  5 років тому +1

      Carlton Lacy if it’s a legal fish I’m going to keep it . My kids like eating fresh fish

      LOST CAUSE BEST IN CLASS “ a true waterman let’s the little ones go and wait out for big ones”....one of the dumbest conservationist statements I have ever heard. Limits are in place for a reason. Who are you to say keeping the lower limit is poaching. Plus throwing the larger fish back is what keeps the larger females with the most eggs in population. Get your facts in order. Then comment. Or just sound uneducated.
