I keep my Ioniq6 at above 20% SOC to save my 12V battery. I heard tell the 12V battery only last about 2 years in the Ioniqs. It's true of all EVs with 12V --even Rivians' 12V sometimes have issues. My husband has a Rivian but it's 12 V is good but it rarely sits at a low SOC.
A shame about the price but good to see Hyundai making some steps in the right direction. I had looked at the kona and ioniq ev's but they just weren't competitive when compared to the Xpeng. If Hyundai can start offering more competitive affordable cars in the 50 ish k drive away range I think we'll see a big uptake in ev sales.
I get people complaining about size and weight but this is not just an EV thing. The Zeekr 009 is with a 140kw pack is 6407 lb unladen, 7319 lb gross. The Chevy suburban ICE van is 6000 lbs unladen. About 7000lbs with seats filled with very lightweight people. Vehicles are too big, but what is the solution when you need to move 8 people and gear? Also, EVs being a lot heavier than ICE is NOT a given. It depends on the vehicle. It only takes a minute to do searches to get this info and compare it to similar sized ICE vehicles. I don’t like big cars either but I would rather they be EV instead of ICE.
I've been yelling this. Politicians here yelling about EV weight but are closed mouthed about these giant sized trucks that weigh more and are everywhere in the red states.
Remember when they say the HP numbers with range you never get that. It's available with that HP and it's available with that range, it's not available with the HP and range.
hyundai doesn't care about the looks of their cars they should not change this much it's more like cartoonish style Kia is better with style I choose Kia EV5 or EV9 over this any time
It makes me mad, that there is no car for 1-2 people. I am forced to buy and carry around three seats I dont need, why? I am an old lady and I want an easy to use car. Sliding electrical doors, nice places for my groceries, many large windows that help me park. Maybe a flat place to sleep and a seat, where I can put my legs up on a cushion while my partner is driving. In almost every car I see are 1-2 passengers. A second car never needs five seats, why do they build all the seats with five expensive doors?
@@lONlQ Im sure you already know about South Korean Mercedes and Ioniq incident that force car companies to publish battery source? Guess what? All the top self combusting Porche/Mercedes/Audi and Hyundai/Kia use LG batteries.
It is getting ridiculous now with the size and weight of the new cars EVs.. bigger and heavier than a tank probably, where is it going to stop !!??!!?😮
The wheel arches are what sticks out to me. Such a strange decision design and manufacturing wise (Munro is going to roast them - more parts and assembly = unnecessary cost). It just doesn’t look right. Even the weird rear end design is smooth and integrated but those eyebrows look like a mistake
Why do both look so freaking ugly? The EV9 is pretty average looking, and Hyundai are even worse. Wife came out of a RR Sport, wants an EV SUV, but the pickings are so bloody hideous in looks. Sitting a model y until we get a decent looking suv in Oz. Need no Asians designing EV SUVs. Rivian looks cool, can't get it here though

The rear kind of looks like the old Volvos, I like it.
I actually like it as well. The front, not so much...
I LOVE my Ioniq6. Paid 38K in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
I’m actually a fan of the back. Pretty cool lookin.
looks like an electric volvo
Actually, the back looks fine to me. The car looks great overall.
Hyundai is doing pretty well🎉
11:00 I like shift by wire-thanks, Viking.

OOS says you can rest your hand while using the UI screen which is nice.

I dont love design but it will sell well like ev9.
Where are you getting 385? Every review from the unveiling says max 335 mile range.
Comes in 16 colors but not sure if 16 colors in US market.
The Rivian R1S is a legitimate great Off-road vehicle where this new Hyundai is just another mall-crawler. So not a direct competitor.
Kia EV3 destroys the Volvo EX30, EV9 and Ioniq 9 destroy the EX90
Back looks like a Li Auto Mega EV MPV.

Wheres he getting 385m from? Ive seen 300-330
And this is what America will get instead of Chinese EVs.
Nah this looks WAYYY better than any American crap car
Y’all tweaking
All the ioniq models got the best retro future design.
Ev3 GOES further... Small Cars, better consuption
hyundai doesn't care about the looks of their cars they should not change this much it's more like cartoonish style
Kia is better with style

They still use the word no1 self combusting battery the LG pouch cell.
Exactly
World uses LG pouch cell. It is still safer than any other Chimericans.
Still crying. World uses LG pouch cell and still safer than any other Chimericans.
Say that to Tesla.

Metric please
It looks like a humpback whale and a Volvo station wagon of old had a love child
NMC - NO!
Wtf is that rear design? Do they have eyes?
What is Hyundai doing design wise... barf. the Kia's look so SO much better
Much better than decievimg tesla range
The Denza n9 is way better than this
Nmc … nope
Its Ugly!!!
Kia looks way better! Hyundai kinda ugly...
Hyundai rear looks really bad. Side profile is not good either.
I felt opposite. Hyundai looks much better than Lego looking Kia I like the back of the Hyundai better than the front too 🎉
Yes, the rear is horrible. EV9 looks so much better. So bad that i probably couldnt own it without being ashamed.
Looks doesn't matter bro , work does
@vivarevolution3527 sure! :)
Hyundai is little ugly. Only nice thing is the interior. The range is not bad. The bad is the rainbow light in the back
Too expensive with outdated pannel Display,Low level software feature,,Just a analog car ~
It’s ugly!!!
The pot calling the kettle black.
It's a Volvo 200 Series rip-off, and we all know it.
Highest fatality rate per driven mile in the USA. Tesla.
(Extra crispy I guess)
