I really hope Ralph Fiennes wins for best actor either at the Golden Globes or the Oscars. I thought he was really good in conclave conclave is my number two movie of the year.
They love Ridley Scott, they even nominated him for all the money in the world, so I'm kind of confident that gladiator II will have multiple nominations
2024 weak year for Oscar movies. My personal favorites are Nightbitch and blitz. Nightbitch will be lucky to get one nomination at the Oscar’s and blitz will not get many either. I hope wicked is good because I have your wife’s opinion on Anora and did not love dune, sing sing, or conclave either. Praying for an Adams/ronan miracle win though!
I actually think the increase in international critics to the Golden Globe voting lobby will get an international film into *Best Picture Drama* so I have five of yours and I would drop Nickel Boys for All We Imagine As Light I have the same six for *Comedy/Musical* I have five *directors* but am actually going for Payal Kapadia for All We Imagine As Light instead of Coralie Fargeat (I think a lot of us who are fans of the horror aspects of The Substance are overestimating how much voters will go for it) I have the same six for *Drama Actress* I have five of the six *Comedy/Musical Actress* but am dropping Amy Adams for June Squibb for Thelma. I have five of the six *Drama Actor* but am dropping Sebastian Stan for Cillian Murphy for Small Things Like These I have five of the six *Comedy/Musical* but am dropping Ryan Gosling for Hugh Grant for Heretic. I have five of the six *Supporting Actress* but am dropping Selena Gomez for Isabella Rossellini for Conclave I have the same six for *Supporting Actor* I have the same six for *Screenplay* I have four of the six *Non-English Films* but have Dahomey and Grand Tour for the last two spots I have the same six for *Animated Film* *Score* and *Song*
There's definitely a big shot for an international film to get in there. Nickel Boys probably has a better shot in director, which I think I didn't have it in for some reason 😆
