+Leonel Cantú de Llano Epic fucking song. Dio...such small guy with an incredible voice...his compression is unmatched. The wah effect on the base is just pure art.
Anyone who has sung in Black Sabbath is totally honoured to have Tony Iommi as a bandmate and a friend. He is the Supreme Riffmaster and the almighty Inventor of Heavy Metal.
If I can be anyone on that stage, I would love to be that drummer just having the best seat in the house witnessing both Tony Iommi badass riff and Dio electrifying vocal performance per usual. It was a perfect live performance with everyone on synch.
Does Metal get any better than this?I mean come on,this is so good its almost unreal. One of the greatest bands of all time at the top of their game.True proffesionals in every sense of the word.
I FUCKING LOVE this song! The Mob Rules LP was and still is massive in my life, i'm 43 years young now and saw Ronnie twice, on the Sacred Heart tour in 86 and when he rejoined Sabbath in 92 on the Dehumanizer tour both at Newcastle City Hall fuck i wish we still had bands like these, God its so shit now....R.I.P Ronnie and Mr Jon Lord.....
RJD.... My king. Always on. Never off. Always delivering so much more than could ever be expected. A gracious human, warm soul, and true Master of Metal if there ever was one. We all live and go through our years....however many there may be, but few of us get to ride the wave like Ronnie did. From Elf to the very end he touched millions. And I've never heard a single soul express anything short of astonishment in regards to their experience.
RJD and company could still could bring it - amazing. Haven't heard him live since 1985 so I was a little nervous, but pleasantly surprised. Absolute classic song done so well - we miss the master voice of metal so much.. Love ya, Ronnie.
I had the privilege to see Dio in the "Ijsselhallen" in Zwolle (Netherlands), last century. I'll never forget.... I can say: what you see here is _real_ . Dio was *really* _this_ good live. You can't say the same for many other bands.
Agree on number one but Ozzy come on Halford and Dickerson would be two and three imho Ozzy was passable at bet don't get me wrong his solo stuff was magic but he was well supported by music gods Randy just to name one without a great band he would have never made it.
Saw the band in Pittsburgh Civic Arena for the Mob Rules tour. They separated the arena in 2 making it a venue for 9,500 people. That was the first time that ever happened. Still one of the best Sabbath shows.
If there isn't light when no one sees Then how can I know what you might believe? A story told that can't be real Somehow must reflect the truth we feel, yeah Fade away, fade away Vanish into smoke Fade away, fade away Break the crystal ball, oh! It's the sign Feels like the time! On a small world, west of wonder Somewhere, nowhere, oh There's a rainbow that will shimmer When the summer falls If an echo doesn't answer When it hears a certain sound Then the beast is free to wander But never is seen around And it's the sign of the southern cross It's the sign of the southern cross All right Sail away To the sign Oh From the book, the word is spoken Whispers from forgotten psalms Gather all around the young ones They will make us strong Reach above your dreams of pleasure Giving life to those who died Look beyond your own horizons Sail the ship of signs And it's the sign of the southern cross It's the sign of the southern cross Fade away, fade away Break the crystal ball Fade away, fade away I can't accept it anymore Oh! On a real world, west of wonder Somewhere, nowhere oh There's a rainbow, see it shimmer When the summer falls From the book, the word is spoken Whispers from forgotten psalms Gather all around the young ones They will make us strong! It's the sign of the southern cross It's the sign of the southern cross Don't live for pleasure Make life your treasure Fade away! Eight miles high, about to fall And no one there to catch you Look for the sign, the time The sign of the southern cross, yeah
both are the best. they they marked us, mark and they will mark with his creativity and magic. Please, don´t arguee a battle that has no end. because, both had the same talent in diferents ways.
I think some of the songs from this concert, sound way better than the studio albums. Especially the songs " I " and "Sign of the Southern Cross". I think this "Live at Radio City Music Hall" album is one of the greatest live albums out there. Great sound.
yes DIO was the best singer for Sabbath and Rainbow he sings with such feelings that you feel the song come alive when you hear it wish he was still alive I was lucky to see him serveral times I even met him once and he was so down to earth he didnt act like a rock star
I have never heard a negative word about Ronnie from fellow musicians. They all talk about what a great man he was. Ronnie said that before he went on stage, he would drink a beer and smoke half a joint. Rock and Fucking roll.
Chris J However, Campbell had a feud with Dio. In 2003, Campbell said "[Playing in Dio] never mattered to me - and still doesn't… He's an incredible talent, but he's an awful businessman and way more importantly, one of the vilest people in the industry."[3] Campbell later stated that he regretted making this statement.[4] Despite this, Dio stated in an article in Hit Parader that he wished Vivian 'the best.'
+Noah Martin They never resolved that. Campbell fucked it up again with a Dio reunion before Campbell took table scraps and went on tour with Def Leppard. Campbell was always the douche.
+Chris J Campbell dissed him because he thought he didn't get his proper share of royalties. Well, Viv, I haven't heard you come up with anything to match Dio's worst song and you never will. Dio wrote the words and the melodies and told you how to play lead. You might have been a decent guitarist but you haven't had an original musical idea of your own. Sunk so low as to be a rhythm player with Def Leppard. Pathetic.

The riff on this song is much more powerful than anything I've ever heard.
+Leonel Cantú de Llano
Epic fucking song.

What about Geezer? Terry Butler
Absolutely!!!
Dio and Iommi fucking best match ever. RIP Dio, one hell of a voice, so powerful .
If I can be anyone on that stage, I would love to be that drummer just having the best seat in the house witnessing both Tony Iommi badass riff and Dio electrifying vocal performance per usual.
It was a perfect live performance with everyone on synch.
Dio ist der größte. Immer auf dem Boden geblieben.
This is classic Black Sabbath. We were fortunate enough to have 2 great versions of Sabbath, Ozzy and Dio.
Dio ist best in der welt после меня я беру 2-3 Гц могу и ниже.

Love this song, sounds sort of spacey or such with the wah & bass delay. Would make a pretty cool song on a soundtrack IMO.

All right
Sail away
To the sign
Oh
From the book, the word is spoken
Whispers from forgotten psalms
Gather all around the young ones
They will make us strong
Reach above your dreams of pleasure
Giving life to those who died
Look beyond your own horizons
Sail the ship of signs
And it's the sign of the southern cross
It's the sign of the southern cross
Fade away, fade away
Break the crystal ball
Fade away, fade away
I can't accept it anymore

dude you are right! he gave it the best he could right up to the end.!
NICE!!! I'M GETTING THIS IN BLU RAY TOO!!!
It'd take a handful of guitarists to match Tony Iommi's bone-crushing sound. He is the master of metal guitar.
totally awesome :)
Absolutely my friend. I weep for the future.
I was lucky enough to see him live in concert, once in Mansfield, Massachussetts, along with the Scorpions and Deep Purple.
absolutely the best
BOOM!,BOOM,BAM!!AAaAAaAaaaaaagh!,!Damn!! ,..I'd almost forgot how awesome that song is !

Is it bad this song has been stuck in my head for weeks
His voice got darker and heavier with age, which was a good thing in case of some songs, including "Lady Evil" and this one.
Getulio Cavalcanti: DIO never die, DIO are immortal.
yes DIO was the best singer for Sabbath and Rainbow he sings with such feelings that you feel the song come alive when you hear it wish he was still alive I was lucky to see him serveral times I even met him once and he was so down to earth he didnt act like a rock star
